I recently dined at the highly acclaimed "Honest" Indian restaurant, enticed by its appealing decor and ambiance. However, my experience left me extremely dissatisfied, as the quality of the food failed to live up to its promising facade.
Let's start with the positives: the restaurant's interior design and setup were undoubtedly impressive. The attention to detail in creating a visually appealing atmosphere was evident, and I was initially excited about the dining experience. Sadly, the delight stopped there.
To my dismay, the paneer dish I ordered was utterly tasteless, bordering on nonexistent. It was as if the paneer had lost all essence, leaving my taste buds yearning for any hint of flavor. It was a culinary disappointment that left me questioning the authenticity of the kitchen's skills.
The paratha, supposedly a staple of Indian cuisine, was a letdown. Its appearance and taste were reminiscent of the frozen parathas readily available in Indian grocery stores. The lack of freshness and homemade feel was evident, and I couldn't help but wonder if my meal had been hastily assembled from pre-packaged ingredients.
The pav bhaji, a dish I typically enjoy, was another letdown at "Honest." The bhaji, which should have had a thick and rich consistency, was strangely liquidy and lacked the flavors I anticipated. Moreover, the quantity of pav provided was inadequate, considering the generous amount of bhaji served. It felt like a missed opportunity to strike the right balance and deliver a satisfying dish.
To make matters worse, the prices at "Honest" were exorbitant given the subpar quality of the food. It felt like a complete rip-off, as I could have enjoyed a much better meal elsewhere at a fraction of the cost. The steep prices only added insult to injury, leaving me feeling cheated and disheartened.
In conclusion, while "Honest" may excel in creating an aesthetically pleasing ambiance, it fails to deliver when it comes to the most crucial aspect of any restaurant: the food. The tasteless paneer, frozen-like paratha, watery pav bhaji, and overpriced menu make it difficult to recommend this place to anyone seeking an authentic and satisfying Indian dining experience. Save yourself the disappointment and explore other culinary options that offer better value...
Read moreLove this restaurant. Being able to find high quality, delicious food without meat, egg, onion and garlic is very difficult. I am so happy to have found this restaurant and have enjoyed my meals both times I have been to this establishment. I hope they continue to take their food service very seriously, because it is rare that a restaurant is available for my family and I to eat at with our dietary restrictions, so we were delighted to find options without meat, egg, onion and garlic that were made without cross contamination.
This restaurant has a very welcoming, family feel to it. Both times I visited, the owner and all of the staff made sure that my family and I were enjoying the food and had no problems. When by mistake there was something wrong with my order, they made sure to fix it without delay and were apologetic. I can tell they care a lot about pleasing the customer, which is so important in the food service industry.
Unfortunately most restaurants these days do not have that personal touch and this is reflected in how you feel after eating food from their establishments. When food is made with love you can feel it. I can feel that here. I hope this restaurant continues to impress me as they have on my previous visits. I hope they stay true to these values for years to come. It is what makes this place special. They came by to check on me and my family during and even after the meal. Felt very welcoming, like a family feel. May God bless their business and keep this family vibe alive. I will definitely be back and will bring my friends. Keep...
Read moreDisappointing Dining Experience at Honest
We recently visited Honest with high hopes after hearing positive reviews, but sadly, my experience fell far short of expectations. From start to finish, the meal left much to be desired.
The Punjabi thali billed as a signature dish, was lackluster. The Paneer was overcooked and rubbery, served with a dal tadka that was overly hot full of chili powder. It was a disappointing start that set the tone for the rest of the meal.
Moving on to the other dishes, paranta was fine too but without any curry it was also hard to finish. The corn mix veg curry arrived overcooked full of oil and too much chili yet again. The rice were clumpy and over-seasoned, tasting like they had been sitting out for too long.
The service was another letdown. Despite the restaurant not being busy, The lack or no waitstaff seemed indifferent and inattentive, making the overall experience even more frustrating.
To top it off, the dessert was the only redeeming part of the meal. Lassi was delicious well when is it not?? So was Gulab jamun. However, it wasn't enough to salvage the disappointing dining experience overall.
Considering the prices charged at restaurant the quality of the food and service was simply unacceptable. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this restaurant based on...
