From the moment you step in, there's no organization. The person taking your names for reservations uses a notebook. There's no system for calling or texting in advance. However, they took our phone number to call, but disregarded. This happened to a few others as well. There is no regard to an order, or priority. They just scratch the name off and move to the next regardless of them actually calling for you. Granted, once we came in, and questioned it, we got the next table. But imagine if we had been waiting for that call.

When it comes to food, it was actually pretty good. We ordered the chicken lollypop, which came perfectly crispy, seasoned, and with a side of tangy sauce. We absolutely devoured this.

Apollo Fish and Kodi Vepudu were both alright. We asked for spicy, but all dishes came out very mild. These two dishes in particular seemed to have been flavored well on the outside, but the flavor didn't carry throughout. I'd forego the Apollo Fish for the Kodi Vedupu.

Kothu Parotta (Keema) also had the same problem. It came out of the kitchen with too little salt. We eat relatively little to begin with but we'll take this home and season it ourselves to improve on the flavor. This dish's portions were good (definitely a heavy meal) but would've been great under different circumstances.

For beverages, we got the mango Lassi and buttermilk. The mango Lassi was nice and thick. Probably not the best pairing with the food we got, but it had a good sweet flavor to wash down the food. However, the buttermilk, with masala, was AMAZING. It was very refreshing and perfectly flavored. We got one and then my wife, and I, ended up ordering two more. Definitely recommend getting this if you visit.

As for the server/waiter, Abhilash, he did an amazing job. He was singlehandedly managing most of the tables, taking orders, and cleaning. He was very attentive, and conversed with us nicely, even though they were severely understaffed. We didn't feel like we were rushed, and enjoyed that personalized attention. Abhilash was definitely the highlight of our visit and I hope he gets the recognition he deserves. This restaurant wouldn't be worth coming to without people like him bettering the customer's experience.

If not for Abhilash, this would've been a 1 star because of how our experience started with our names being scratched off of the...

A Gem for South Indian Cuisine During a recent outing in search of authentic South Indian cuisine, we stumbled upon a remarkable establishment that not only met but exceeded our expectations - Rajni. This restaurant, nestled in the heart of the city, provided an extraordinary dining experience that transported us straight to the southern coasts of India, thanks to its flavorful dishes and exceptionally welcoming staff. Ambiance and Decor: Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a warmly lit space, adorned with traditional South Indian decor. The use of vibrant colors coupled with subtle, cultural accents created a cozy and inviting ambiance. Service: What set Rajni apart was its phenomenal staff (Jaanu, Sreelatha and Lokesh) Right from the moment we walked in, we were treated with utmost hospitality. The staff was not only friendly but also knowledgeable, eagerly sharing insights about the dishes, their ingredients, and the regions they hailed from. Their recommendations were spot on, making our dining experience personalized and memorable. It was evident that they took pride in their service, ensuring that every guest felt valued and well-taken care of. The Culinary Journey: Now, onto the star of the show - the food. Each dish we ordered was a marvel, beautifully presented and bursting with authentic flavors. The starters, including the 'Margandam Soup’ and ‘Lamb Chops’ were delicious and set a high bar for what was to come. The mains were equally impressive. We indulged in 'Crab Masala’ and 'Kerala Parotta', which were aromatic and had the right balance of spices. Beverages and Desserts: To complement our meal, we tried the traditional 'Madras Coffee', which was a robust end to an exquisite meal. Conclusion: Rajni stands out not just for its exceptional cuisine but for creating an experience that feels like a warm embrace. The dedication of the staff to provide impeccable service and the chef's commitment to authentic flavors make this restaurant a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the rich culinary heritage of South India. Whether you're a lover of South Indian cuisine or new to these flavors, Rajni promises an experience that's bound to leave you impressed and...

If you are looking for an authentic South Indian dining experience, Rajni South Indian Restaurant is the place to be. As someone who appreciates the true flavors of Tamil Nadu, I can confidently say that Rajni does not compromise on quality or taste.

The menu features all-time favorites like Bhai Kadai Biryani and Ambur Biryani, which are cooked to perfection and remind me of the traditional biryanis back home. The South Indian Parota with Chalna is a must-try, bringing the rich, layered texture of the parota together with a flavorful, spicy chalna that’s simply irresistible.

The seafood options are equally impressive. The Karimmen Tawa Fry and Kariveppilai Eral Masala stand out for their freshness and expertly balanced spices. And let's not forget the dosas—Rajni offers a variety of dosa options that are out of this world. Each bite is a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to authenticity and flavor.

One of the most unique offerings at Rajni is their Elaneer Payasam, a dessert made from tender coconut. This traditional Tamil Nadu delicacy is light, refreshing, and perfectly sweet, capturing the essence of the region’s cuisine. It's a rare find in the U.S., and Rajni nails it every time.

Rajni has become a weekly staple for my family. Not only do we enjoy the delicious food, but the exceptional service makes every visit special. Whether you’re a repeat customer or a newcomer, the staff treats everyone with warmth and hospitality, making you feel right at home.

Additionally, the pricing is very reasonable, especially when compared to other Indian restaurants in Atlanta. It’s rare to find such high-quality food at such an affordable price.

Rajni South Indian Restaurant is, in my opinion, one of the best South Indian dining experiences you can have in the United States. As a South Indian foodie, this is high praise, and Rajni has earned it through its unwavering dedication to delivering the true flavors of South India. Highly...

Started the day thinking of South Indian food like sambar and rice. Then, got a bit ambitious and wanted meen kozhambu. Where would I get home-style food on a Sunday other than at a friend’s house, I wondered. A friend whom I discussed with, recommended Rajni. An hour away, the visions of fish fry and other stuff did not deter me one bit. I sat at the bar for a quick service and Lokesh who was conjuring up different types of juices and sherbets, took my order. An affable person, he gave me useful tips to zoom in on exactly what I needed right then. The wait for the food was not long and Siva who was serving from the kitchen had a bright smile as he served me what I had ordered. I devoured what came my way and was so taken in by the taste, I even offered the couple sitting beside me at the bar a taste of it. If you thought I offered because I wanted to try what they had ordered, you are right 😁. Their food also was equally good. Since my family had not come with me on this trip, I had uploaded picture shots of my order. They promptly called me right away to ask me to order some more to-go. Two days later, sure enough, the meen kozhambu is true to its promise - aged kozhambu is tops! We hope Suresh, the owner (who is on the floor keeping a watchful eye on all guests, known or unknown - the perfect virundhombal host) expands this facility to accommodate more people. Or replicate in other parts of Atlanta and around. Clean and tidy in spite of the buzzing and guzzling crowd, Rajni Indian Cuisine in Suwanee is a must-go place for families, singles, visitors and everyone in between. The staff are all very friendly. Even at the front desk, where there could be demands to be prioritised, be made, the staff are courteous and fair. Ask for recommendations from the one taking your order. She will give you good suggestions. A great place to go to, for food, ambience, nostalgia and a contended experience!

This one was just wow in terms of food quality, service and then the usual ambience. Very rarely we get a good combination of all these put together. I really wish they had some more varieties under Vegetarian, but that’s okay. I hope they expand theirs sooner than later. But million times better than the pathetic SriKrishnaVilas near by for its poor stale food and horrible service. Food: The food was just amazing and the quantity as well. We ordered Paneer65, Veg Kothu Parotta, Set Dosa and Mango Lassi. Never experienced a Paneer65 melt in my mouth. It was super soft and very nicely cooked and aromatic. The oil itself seemed very fresh to taste. Veg Kothu Parotta was just too good. Ordered it with mild spice and it was absolutely perfect. No random use of chilli powder or green chillies. The quantity was a lot. Probably can be shared amongst 2 people. The Set dosa, the sambar and chutneys were amazing as well, in particular the green coriander chutney. The mango lassi was good and tastes slightly different in a good way. Quality didn’t seem to be a thing either, felt good on my tummy. Service & Ambience: The service was very prompt and excellent. The waitress heard my spice levels and it was cooked to perfection and in no time. Always used to be crowded but luckily going before 7PM on a weekend/ Friday night secure you a quick spot without any wait times. Ambience was good and it’s almost like eating at a Hotel in Chennai rather than fine dining. BOTTOMLINE: Definitely would recommend this place for its amazing food and hospitality. Tastes amazing. Would be interested to try their Curry varieties and rice items some time soon. Also the rates were very reasonable and not so expensive and definitely worth for the quantity and the quality of food & service. MY PICKS FOR YOU: Paneer65, Veg Kothu Parotta, Set Dosa.
