Long read Wow, what a complete disappointment from my last visit to Carrabba’s in Johnson City. My family and I have been dining here for years and the customer service I received from the manager on duty Friday night March 4th, Jocelyn, is the reason we won’t be back. I purchased one 7oz sirloin add Marsala sauce for an up charge of $3.99 and one chicken Marsala. When we arrived home to eat our dinner, There was not a Steak Marsala but both Entree’s were chicken Marsala. I called and asked to speak with the manager on duty. I explained to Jocelyn that I was missing an entree, she immediately said she was putting me on hold so she could talk to the kitchen and get my ticket, didn’t apologize or anything, I politely replied okay and waited for her to return back to the phone only to tell me I was basically a liar. She said “the kitchen does not recall making two chicken Marsala’s so if that did happen I can only give you a $20 coupon for it and maybe the manager who is here when you arrive next time will comp the rest.” Must I remind this was a sirloin steak with the add on Marsala already priced well above $23. She didn’t seem concerned, she didn’t apologize for anything. She literally told me I was wrong and they did not bag 2 chicken marsala’s. I asked for her name and said I’ll need your name to get my food and she yelled it out to me twice. “I already told you my name! My name is Jocelyn!” Ive never been spoken to or treated like this from anybody, especially a manager from a restaurant I frequently visit. I asked her if I could get my corrected order the next day so I didn’t have to drive back out to the restaurant at 10:30 at night & I could also get my full entree without paying extra. Since she said the manager “might” comp the rest with giving me only a $20 coupon. She said it would not be an option to get my food the next day because they have had manager problems with people getting the wrong orders. She had me drive all the way back 15 min from home to get my entree at almost closing time after spending 20 minutes with her on the phone trying to explain my situation to her and she didn’t care it was late, or that I had to work the next morning. It isn’t ideal to pay $49 of hard earned money to be talked to and treated with that kind of disrespect. When I arrived (nearly 11pm at this point , I ordered at 8pm) Chet delivered the food to our car. I showed him the pictures I had told Jocelyn about and she said she didn’t need to see them it wouldn’t change anything. He apologized to us, at least we received gratitude from someone. If they are experiencing manager problems giving food out like she told me, shouldn’t she had been the one to bring it to me and apologize? That was even more disappointing. The worst customer service I have ever had. People have bad days, but she yelled at me on the phone repeatedly called me a liar and did not handle our incorrect order with an ounce of kindness. Besides this incident , the quality for the food is good but our family...
Read moreVisited for date night dinner & was NOT impressed. No one was at the hostess stand when we walked in. A few servers passed us but didn't say anything. The hostess arrived at the stand & greeted us. She grabbed menus & walked us to our table, but the table had not been cleaned so we walked back to the hostess stand & were then taken to a table toward the rear of the restaurant. Our server was friendly, but didn't seem very knowledgeable about the menu. I commented that I was deciding between the chicken piccata & the spiedino de mare. He explained that he did not care for the piccata because of the lemon butter sauce & suggested the spiedino. I pointed out that both dishes had the same sauce. He then said that the piccata had too much of it. I took his advice & ordered the spiedino. I selected the house salad & was somewhat frustrated to find all the vegetable sides except broccoli (which I don't care for) & even the Alfredo pasta side had a $3 upcharge. I selected the asparagus for the additional $3. Our salads were out promptly, but a couple bites in, our entrees were being delivered - definitely a huge issue for me. Do I let my entree get cold while I finish the salad or let my salad get warm while I switch to the entree? The salad was tasty, but the presentation on the plate was awful! I actually thought I may have received a salad previously served to someone else who took a few bites & sent it back. There was dressing on the plate where there was no salad & the portion size was quite small. I decided to forego the salad to eat the entree while it was warm. The shrimp & scallops were cooked correctly, but the breading on them which was grilled & should have been crispy was soggy because the lemon butter sauce had been poured over them. It made no sense. In addition, the black pepper in the breading so overpowered all the other flavors that I found myself scraping off the breading to eat the seafood underneath. Although there was a huge pile of breading on my plate & I was eating long after my date, the server never questioned if there was a problem - presumably because he had recommended the dish. The asparagus was also cooked correctly, but I was disappointed by the serving size considering the $3 upcharge. This was not the date night meal I was hoping for & I will not be returning to a Carrabba's...
Read moreI really hate to leave this review but this was my experience.
I had not been there in many many years. My main reason was I really wanted a margarita because I was headed to Lowe’s. I ordered the house margarita. It was a generous margarita, rim well salted and was over the top perfect. The bartender is awesome. My waiter was extraordinary in taking care of me. Salad could have been better had I know to order one that had the thicker dressing and would have been mixed and then served. My memory of the bread brought me there too. It’s not the same and was bland. I used to just go get a loaf to take home. The fettuccine with chicken, mushrooms and peas was ok but I feel other then the pasta could have been anywhere. I can’t say it was bad, it was a ok in taste. I have no craving for it again. But my main reason was taramisu which the last time I had it, it literally could serve 2 and my portion was a very small portion and $8.99 the most I’d ever paid for a dessert in a fine dining restaurant. It’s usually cheesecake and till Ruby Tuesdays closed in our area was Italian cream cake OMG !!! I actually bought a whole one! And my last terramisu at Carrara was the next best. Very decadent and plenty for 2 and so thick and creamy. This tiny piece for $9 was a child portion. I have had take home terramisu many times many years ago and it was even better the next day. Even my waiter said it’s even better when it sits. But the flavor wasn’t there and sitting made it like soggy white sandwich bread. I can’t describe the flavor except the chocolate curls were awesome.
I’ve tried to give as much positive as I can think of. But next time I want a dessert with decadence I’ll grab me a huge turtle cheesecake from Sam’s that is in the same area for $15!
If I graded each thing Atmosphere ⭐️⭐️⭐️ But was 4pm
My waiter was over the top awesome and was the excellent part of my meal. I’m thinking his name was Reece. I give him ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The bartender couldn’t have made a better house margarita. If I ever go back it would be to go to the bar and have a couple. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I truly did not have a horrible experience only because of these 2 young men. I’m so happy Carraba’s has at least the two wonderful men that did their...
