Updated review 4/27/25: First visit since they opened a second location(which I've yet to visit) but I have to ask.. did all the veteran staff leave for the new location? I got my usual boulette Andreas and it was a bit overcooked. The gravy didn't have the first piece of mushroom and was thick like breakfast gravy, it didn't hint at wine at all. The pan fried potatoes were bland and had no green onion mixed into it at all. One of the potatoes had a bad spot in it the size of a nickel. This is no longer my number 1 tri cities restaurant.
Original review, 5 star: What can I say? Freiberg's is a must eat if you're in the Area, or if you're outside the area you should just drive. This is my favorite restaurant in all of the tri-cities. I highly recommend the Boulette Andreas, with a double side of the pan fried potatoes, the boulette is covered in a wine type gravy and is to die for and the potatoes are fighting for space with big tasty chunks of bacon and onion. While you wait for your meal you can have bread and dill butter, which alone is reason enough to go. Every little thing Freiberg's does is magic! The staff is always friendly and they keep your glass filled. Give it a try and I'd bet...
Read moreOkay so I've never left a review but, I saw this restaurant online and thought it'd be nice to try, went in today with my fiancé around 2-2:30 and got seated pretty quickly but took about 5-10 minutes for us to receive our drinks and didn't receive our food for another 25 minutes, shortly after receiving I realized it tasted pretty bland and when my fiancé talked to our waitress about it said "it's just fried chicken" and walked off. A while later she brought over our check and when we paid in cash it took about 15 minutes for us to receive our change. About 10 minutes after leaving I realized I had left my bag so I called the restaurant to ask if they had it and I didn't even get to finish my sentence before the woman on the phone said "yeah I have it" and hung up while I was asking about coming back to grab it. Going back in to grab my bag, I could see my bag in the back but felt to weird to grab so I made eye contact with the woman who served us (who I think answered the phone) before she walked off. The atmosphere here was really nice but I'd really recommend getting some better staff for this place.
(The waitress had black hair with blonde stripes and...

The brats were great and I was really excited to eat them, but to still pay like $27 to feed my family after bringing a $30 gift card to the table is ridiculous imo. I just can't afford it (wish I could).
Original review: this was one of my favorite places to eat 15 years ago when I was a grad student at ETSU. Id eat those cheddar brats till hell wouldn't have it and would just wash down that cheese sauce. I do think it is a great restaurant and still love the cheddar brats. Unfortunately, I only get to enjoy them about once a year because they have raised prices like 10 times over the past few years. I'm so sick of it. It's like you can't even do anything anymore because prices are thru the roof everywhere, but no more so than at Freibergs. Tonight I got 3 brats and 2 sides for just over $25. At one time I could've gotten two more brats for that and my daughter and I could've pigged out together. People need to start standing up...
