I love a good sandwich, but I am sorry to say that I didn't get one at Spring Street Sandwich shop. I stopped in for the 1st time today and ordered 2 sandwiches, both on white bread. I list the bread type because a godd sandwich starts with good bread and the white bread that we got on both sandwiches was not good. So much so that we couldn't finish either sandwich. Maybe another bread would have been better, but the white french style bread we got had no flavor, was so thick that it sucked all the moisture out of your mouth making it all but impossible to consume without taking a drink of something. I asked for both to be baked ( which would have helped somewhat) but neither one was. It was a great disappointment. The sauce added to the Ultimate Club sandwich was an additional negative. It appeared to be a thousand island type sauce, that simply doesn't work on a turkey, bacon based sandwich. The other sandwich was an Italian and was drenched in oil (I can only assume that vinegar was also added but either added to the sandwich. Partly because the bread was so thick it was near impossible to taste let alone enjoy the meat of the sandwich. I really really hope that they will take this review as constructive as I do hope they succeed, but I am not sure that I will risk another visit...
Read moreThe service was absolutely horrible. My friends and I went on a Saturday night and were planning on sitting down and getting some drinks before going to the bars. I really had to use the bathroom, so we tried to go there first and then order our drinks, but the bartender came running from behind the bar and stood in front of the bathroom door yelling “no no no” at us. Afterwards she told us we had to order drinks first before we could use the restroom. When going to order drinks she had a major attitude and proceeded to help the people behind us before she helped us. A different bartender ended up making our drinks, which were amazing and she provided much better service. I heard the original bartender talking about us to customers and coworkers, and told the bartender making our drinks to water them down (she didn’t, we watched). I have never felt so disrespected in my life and i also work in the service industry so I know how rude people can be, but this was an extreme over reaction. Once we finally went to the bathroom AFTER receiving our drinks, she apologized to my boyfriend who was still at the bar, but never apologized to me directly. Needless the say our drinks were amazing but definitely not worth the embarrassment of being screamed at in front of an...
Read moreBoth sandwiches & mixed drinks were awful & expensive. Bruschetta tasted like marinara sauce. Asked for toasted sandwich & they gave me steamed then refused to fix it. Didn’t have enough staff & it was so packed at 9pm.
Update: After the owner’s response below, I called directly (again bc I never received a phone call back Monday) — and yes, I did speak with a waitress who told me no. No, I didn’t feel the need to go chase down yet another waitress to ask the exact same thing.
For the owner to publicly imply I’m lying — and then double down on the phone, arguing with me for 15 minutes instead of offering any real solution — says everything you need to know about how this business is run. Terrible customer service, zero accountability, and a complete waste of time/money/brain cells.
And yes, for the food to be “exactly as I ordered it”, yet it was terrible, which is why I TOLD THE WAITRESS AND SHE STILL SAID NO? Idc you all were busy & I stated that numerous times over the phone so please stop gas lighting the public. Your attitude, food, and drinks...
