The food was excellent, and the service was exceptional! The waitress was quick and polite, and we had our seats within seconds of entering the restaurant. Our chef had a great personality and kept us engaged with conversation and banter throughout his cooking performance. The food was great and we got good portions for the price. The mood and the music was great, definitely an establishment worth visiting again!

Loved this little place. Went for a birthday party and the chef was funny and charming. The food was marvelous, I really liked the pork and shrimp. Very friendly staff and great portions!

What a difference a few months can make!

We ordered identical meals 4 months apart. What was a 4.5☆ dinner is now a 1.5☆ Two Filet Mignon & Jumbo Shrimp (cooked Medium) dinners with zucchini & onions, mushrooms, & salad. Two Sesame Chicken dinners, with carrots, extra rice & salad. The filet was thin, way overcooked, & tough. It did not look nor taste like any filet we've ever had. The zucchini & onions were nearly raw & tasted awful. There was nothing jumbo about the shrimp. I'm sure we were given house shrimp by mistake. (But charged for jumbo.) The chicken had no sesame seeds on it, but was cooked properly. The rice was clumpy, gummy, & sticky. No one ate more than five or six bites. The salad...which is basically lettuce in a styrofoam box - was crisp, green, & good. The shrimp sauce everyone loves so much, this time was super thin & tasted watered down.

While we still had all the uneaten food, I called & asked to speak with someone in management. Explaining why we were disappointed was difficult, as she seemed completely uninterested in hearing about these meals no one could eat. I told her we saved the food from last night, in original containers. To which she replied the food can be reheated, but not in the containers. After three times explaining our disappointment, I gave up. I have never, in all my years working & dealing with the public been party to such poor customer service. We will not go back.

I suggest choosing to have dinner elsewhere. If you do get take out from Misaki - open the bag & check every single item ordered before paying. As you will get no relief from management if you get the order home & it is horrible.

Thank you for reading about my recent experience at Misaki. If you found it to be helpful, informative, and/or entertaining, Please click the lil' "thumbs up" icon below...&...

This was easily the worst Japanese food I have ever eaten, and I eat Japanese food often. To be honest - hands down, this may possibly be the worst restaurant I have ever eaten at - period. I have never tasted food so bland in my entire life. I almost walked out but was trying to be respectful.

This is not a joke; the rice was this: rice + soy sauce. The vegetables were this: vegetables + soy sauce + "house sauce". The shrimp was this: shrimp + soy sauce + "house sauce". There was no salt or pepper added, in fact no seasoning of any kind was added. He even brought butter out, but didn't use any of it.

I honestly could have made this at age 5 at home in 2 minutes, and all the 1 cook in the whole place kept talking about how good of a cook he was - while he wasted food and burnt almost everything. The manager and the cook literally brought raw vegetables out in a bowl, turned the bowl over on the cook top, and then served them to us when it was "cooked". There was absolutely no flavor, no seasoning, no "showmanship". It is seriously hilarious to think this is a Japanese grill.

The people eating at the table with us complained about his shrimp being burnt, and she literally soaked her food in shrimp sauce - they must have gone through 3-4 cups worth to make it taste edible. I hesitantly ate only my shrimp and it was almost nauseating doing only that because everything else was absolutely tasteless.

Oh yea, plus my Dr. Pepper was flat and had to ask for a coke instead.

Worst....

Everything was horrible. We enjoyed absolutely nothing about our meals:

The soup was just (barely) warmed water seasoned with pepper. My salad was "meh" at best, and their sesame dressing – which used to be a favorite – has changed for the worse. (I did not finish it.) I ordered the Yaki/Chicken, like I almost always do. But on this visit, the grill wasn't hot enough to make anyone's food sizzle... and sadly, it really showed in the final quality of the prepared food. The "fried rice" was literally just some barely warmed rice with soy sauce poured on it. It was bland and awful, and there was nothing "fried" about it. The meats were more steamed than "hibachi style", and neither the beef nor the chicken tasted fresh at all. I won't mention the carrots, because they didn't show up until several minutes after everything else was done... clearly they were forgotten. Long story short: I usually eat everything on my plate from here... but I didn't even eat 1/3rd of it on this visit. It was all (barely warm) trash from start to finish.

Besides the awful food, the place was a dirty mess.. and nobody in my party was ever offered a single drink refill. The whole experience was just bad all around... and that's a major bummer to me. I've been coming here 3-4 times a year for almost 30 years, but after yesterday it may be a long time before I'm...
