Tonight (March 27, 2021) one of our very own Boone Trail teachers were treated very harshly. This girl is the sweetest and so young! She should have never been treated this way. We held a going away dinner at ROCKS Wood Fired Pizza and Grill. 16 of us! Can you imagine the money they made from all of us!? We enjoyed ourselves, bonded, and laughed tons. Such a great night! This employee of ours was stopped at her car and harassed by ROCKS very own boss, Larry, because of the parking spot she had parked in (keep in mind it wasn’t even that much of a big deal). The whole parking lot was taken, and she had never been there before in her life. How was she to know she couldn’t park there? If it was such an issue, the whole restaurant could’ve been asked who’s car it was and asked them NICELY to move it somewhere else. That makes sense, correct? The boss had came out screaming at this young girl saying things like “You can’t read” and “We took pictures of your license plate and we’ll report you to the police” and “never come back here again”. A few of us girls attempted to help out, and he screamed at ALL OF US! I used to work at this place, so I walked up to the boss attempting to calm him down and explain the situation. He said to me, “It’s okay. It is not your fault.” Then yelled, “I don’t want a bunch of rednecks here!” These are MY coworkers, MY friends, and such amazing people. I will NOT tolerate this nonsense. You can yell at us harshly, you can call us names, but you will NOT break these girls spirits. This will not go unseen. Maybe I am just one customer out of tons that will not return, but I hope and pray that people will see this and realize how awful of a person he was being to these wonderful girls. A true business owner would NEVER get angry with their customers over a simple mistake made. It is time ROCKS Wood Fired Pizza and Grill learned some decent customer service. I will NOT be back. (This is not against any employees there whatsoever, just the boss. I know very great people who work there). I have kept names out of this post to respect privacy of others, but please please share this and get...
Read moreAll was fine until we had an issue. My husband and I sat at the bar and ordered nachos. We have had them many times before and they are delicious when served warm. They often are not warm at all. Who wants Luke warm/cold cheese on their nachos? I took a bite and it was extremely salty, then the next was the same or worse. It was as though the shaker lid fell off and poured the salt. I told the bartender, Emily, and she said that she would get it fixed. After a good while she returned with a bowl of plain corn chips and said that they didn't have any salt on them. My husband and I looked at each other in disbelief. Was that it? We asked her if she was going to give us a new nacho order and it was clear that she hadn't planned on it. The next order was a little smaller, cheese was still just luke warm/room temp but it tasted good. After eating the chips I wasn't hungry for the fish tacos that I intended to order on taco Tuesday. I asked for an order to go and she actually said that the $5 specal was for eat in guests only. Really? Hadn't we just done that? We had a $40+ bill and she was going to charge me regular price because I was no longer hungry to eat them there after waiting twice for nachos! The food took a while and the restaurant was not busy at 5:00. I told her to just bring the tacos and I would eat a bite then she could bring me a box so that I could take my leftovers home. She still charged us full price! We just kept $3 out of her tip. She was blatantly inexcusably rude. NOTE: my husband frequented Rocks and in fact we have leftover pizza in our fridge now. Going out to eat isnt just about the food, it's as much about the service and overall experience. He said that he was so annoyed by the service that he does not plan to return anytime...
Read moreI plan to give this restaurant another chance:
This review below is from 3 years ago:
This was my third time here. The service has never been good however their food has been great. The service for a well established restaurant is pitiful. We went on a Friday night party of 2. Not busy at all and got a table on the patio from the host. 15 minutes passes with no service and 5 different people making eye contact and not taking the time to initiate to speak/help/serve us. I jokingly said to my wife, 'let's see if one more person looks at us without acknowledging', sure enough that happened we got up walked out. The host said 'you guys have a great night!'. She knew we didn't even eat, or drink. I'm still shocked that they didn't have the initiative to ask if something was wrong or apologize for no service.
There was no situational awareness on the staffs part of the experience. They were rolling silverware and occasionally looking our way.
The owner (Larry, I think) I hope takes notes of these reviews to learn and train for a better restaurant experience. He owns or used to own the apartments behind the restaurant and got tired of tenants not paying the bills at this now mentioned restaurant. So he took it upon himself to start a restaurant with no experience.
I suggest to go on a very slow night. Do not expect class A service on a weekend or busy time. The place has good food and a great environment. I do hope this place improves and does well in the...
