I have visited this place 3 times since moving up to Fayetteville in July. Only one thing prevents me from giving 5 stars, and unfortunately it is a seriously important one.
First of all, Wright’s has flavor DOWN. Whether you like sweet or spicy BBQ, they have you covered with truly great original sauces. Both their pulled pork and brisket sandwich is top tier and the choice of lean or fatty brisket (as well as them being more than willing to accommodate my chopped brisket request no questions asked) allows you to get your BBQ just how you like it. The brisket is seasoned well, (and once a bit too peppery) and just like the pork, extremely juicy. Everything about a meal from Wright’s looks absolutely mouthwatering.
Here’s my issue…all 3 visits I have been served lukewarm meat. Fortunately enough, the flavor is so dang good I don’t mind it too much. But knowing this place does EVERYTHING right except for this definitely does put an itch in my mind only the owner/operator can scratch. I understand they have to push out BBQ at one of the fastest rates around with those out-the-door lines, but there must be a solution.
Regardless. I will be back. And I hope one day I bite into that perfectly flavored bbq sandwich and see that beautiful steam emitting from between the buns. Love...
Read moreOne of my credit cards is running a promotion where they give you a statement credit for visiting small businesses, so, being in the mood for BBQ, I looked on the map and Wright's popped up with good reviews. Those reviews are well deserved.
My last BBQ experience before this was a few years back a well known chain. It was overcooked, dry, and flavorless. That experience was why I haven't gone back for BBQ in several years.
What I got from Wright's today could not be more different. I got the pulled pork. It was hot, extremely juicy, and had a strong smoke flavor. The employee running the drive through was in a good mood and friendly, and had the order ready in literally seconds. This is the way BBQ should be.
The employee did tell me they are running a limited menu because of renovations, and indeed they did not have the nachos from the online menu that I came in for. That's not a problem when the limited menu is this good. Granted, compared with my last few BBQ experiences, my expectations were low. That being said, I will definitely be back, and am proud to support this local small business. Their business will boom if they maintain the quality...
Read moreGood food cool staff. I heard this place is pretty busy around so I decided not to fight the crowd and go around 1:00 pm. I was in luck, I only had two people in front of me when I walked in. I was greeted by the staff, and checked out the menu. It was written on butcher paper, pretty cool, huh. I ordered the Texas Trinity which consist of brisket, ribs, and sausage. I also got an order of pork burnt ends with a cold beer. Beer and barbecue go together like peas and carrots. I was a little worried the brisket would be a little dry because it was after lunch. The brisket was however, cooked perfectly. I was moist, tender and peppery. It reminded me of texas style barbecue with a little down home mixed in. The spare ribs were good they pulled away from the bone great. They were a tad on the dry side, but hey they appeared to have sat for a while. Now let me say this. Even with that they are some on the best I've eaten. The flavor profile of the sausage was extremely good. Now let's get those beautiful burnt ends. Now those were absolutely delicious. All in all a great Arkansas top 5...
