Cheba Hut "Toasted" Subs — Restaurant in Johnston

I have been to the Cheba Hut near Loveland CO and that had set a pretty high standard. I just learned about this Cheba Hut location and my fiancé and I just had to visit and compare to the CO location! First off, for those who have never been, the atmosphere is like nothing else around here. They really lean into the stoner vibes in their menu items, their decor, team members clothing, and even music tastes. If you want to be offended by that then happily go somewhere else so we can enjoy our little slice of heaven. The service was absolutely top notch at this location. Our cashier was amazing, great vibes, knowledgeable, and thoroughly enjoyed interacting with us. Several employees and managers came around to check on us and the other patrons that were eating. They also would buss our table periodically (removing trash even though they definitely didn't need to!). The bartender was also helping the ordering lines to stay short by letting people place orders at the bar! The food? Well, the food is just amazing. I've had 3-4 different subs and they are always mouth wateringly delicious. Great flavors, to die for crispy "toasted" bread, and fun combo options! Stopped in on recommendation from a couple friends. The vibe was perfect for us. We were welcomed warmly. The menu is up above the counter and a little overwhelming but I didn't shy away. I went right up to the counter and asked the women at the counter what her favorite is. Then my husband asked her what the last thing she ate was. This has always worked out for us. She put together the best sandwich for us.

After we put in our orders we took our number and made our way out to sit on the patio. It didn't take very long and our sandwiches came out.

She had told me the Kali Mist (Spicy Club) was popular. It is roasted turkey breast, bacon, chipotle mayo, jalapeno, avocado, pepper jack, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle. She let me take off the extra jalapeno because she said it was the perfect heat without it. Normally I am not one to go for turkey for a sub, but this was perfect. Really hit the spot.

Forget the other sub shops, this one is at the top of my list now! Went and tried this new place out tonight at the new location in Johnston, this place has some killer subs! Best I've had!! The bread alone was 😋

Nine of us walked in around 6:30 tonight (Saturday) and the place wasn't too busy yet, but it got there, we grabbed some tables and got in line and ordered our food. Great menu with many, many choices, you can't go wrong with anything on it. I got the G-13, Blunt size and it was very tasty, the all around flavor was great and I also got a Bowl of Balls (BBQ), everyone else's food in my group was great too! Didn't have to wait long for our food either, the staff had it all together and was awesome! Thanks for the great service 😀
