Pros: Desert, ordered the lemon blueberry cake and I can't recommend it more. It was beyond excellent. The complimentary side salad was also very good, albeit simple. Drinks were on point and service was accommodating which left me feeling whelmed. The risotto was by far the best part of my wife's dish. Prime rib was deserving of 3 star.

Cons: I ordered the slow roasted prime rib. It turned out very fatty and apparently is all you receive besides the side salad. I guess I'm accustomed to a much smaller portion supported by a vegetable and potato. It was all meat and very pricey for just a slab of fatty meat. My wife ordered the encrusted walleye at the recommendation of the waitress. It was very bland and contained a surplus of bones. This is where service took a slight turn for the worse. The waitress felt bad and attempted to be accommodating but I'm not sure what the manager was on. She very passively aggressively told us that it happens and we need to deal with it. She mentioned she also gets frustrated when there's bones in her walleye when she orders it. Like what!? You do know that you should be taking the bones out of the fish right? No one wants to chomp down on something hard when eating fish nor do they want to get their throat scraped at dinner. She wanted to give us a free desert but we said we'd rather not pay for the fish since it was barely touched and order desert anyway. So we order desert and by the time the bill comes around, only the desert gets comped. Luckily the waitress was understanding and fixed it.

Hopefully the next time we go will be better, but I'm reluctant on going again. Especially since the experience we got could be had at lower quality restaurant. Definitely not worth our $90 tab even with the...

We had an amazing anniversary dinner last night! I felt incredible and my husband did a double take and stumbled over his words when he saw me. (Anyone who knows Randy, knows this is very hard to do.) We had never been to Greenbriar before, but we were THOROUGHLY IMPRESSED! The food was amazing! Our server IMPECCABLE! Stacy was really able to understand our needs and prioritize her tables accordingly! (She had a hand in a homecoming party of 12, a party of 9, 2 top, 4 top, 5 top, and us!) I have never been treated so well in a restaurant, especially an upscale restaurant! I will always be back only to see her! I was most impressed with how Stacy was able to gage and read the needs of each table. She knew we needed little attention, the homecoming party A LOT, the 2 top more than us, her regulars(the 4top) little attention and the 5 top would be good as long as they had their bar drinks. She is a pure gem and deserves all the recognition! Thank you Stacy for making our anniversary dinner one to remember! You are amazing girl! The food was incredible. The appetizer of baked mushrooms was pretty standard 4 rating. I could make the same thing at home. The prime rib melted in your mouth with a healthy helping of horsey sauce and au jus. The scallops over mushroom risotto has so much flavor and just enough lemon to bring out the scallops! Both...

Overrated, overpriced, and understaffed. It was our second time eating here with a group of friends and both times it was disappointing. The dining room was dark, probably to create an atmosphere, but if diners need to use their cellphone light to read the menu, you should add some lights on the table. One hour wait to be able to order is too long but not the server’s fault: three servers for a large room with some 20 tables are not enough. The food was disappointing: the chicken Marsala consisted of 5-6 thin strips of chicken breast smothered in a creamy sauce that had no Marsala flavor on fluid garlic mashed potatoes that didn’t taste like garlic and looked suspiciously like those made with flakes. After three hours we are ready to leave but discover that they added a credit card surcharge to the bill: too bad that mine was a debit card so more wait to get that fixed. The server explained that other restaurants add that fee to the food prices; with their prices and small portions, the surcharge, a first for us and not disclosed in the menu, reflects this place’s attitude based on an undeserved reputation. Will...

I proposed here back in the day, so that should say something as to how much I like Greenbriar. I'd like to say there are two different sides of Greenbriar in addition to the banquet room. The fine dining side is nice and all that you would expect, but we enjoy the bar side. With candlelight booths and dark lighting, I prefer the comfortable bar side. The food is always top notch. I prefer the steak sandwich, the prime rib, the appetizers, the Merle Hay Automile Salad, and the Creme Brulee, among other items. I have yet to be disappointed. It's a minor criticism, but the only thing out of place is contemporary music being played. This is all my preference, but I'd think traditional standards (Sinatra, Michael Buble, Dean Martin, ect) would be a more appropriate choice upon reading the room. The candlelight, food, and decor make for the perfect location for a date night. Trostel's Greenbriar is definitely a happy place for me, and I want to share it with the rest of the D.M. Metro. They take reservations, but you don't always need reservations, particularly when sitting on the bar-side. Great restaurant.

I dined at Trostel's Greenbriar to attend a seminar on February 28, 2024. We all were served the same items. The large mixed greens salad with their homemade buttermilk ranch dressing with tasty bread was a wonderful start. Then came a center cut New York Strip steak, a whopping 16 oz (!), and a hefty sized perfectly baked potato with butter and sour cream. I asked for a very, very, very, very rare steak and that's exactly what I got! I was in Heaven!! For dessert, we were served an oversized wedge of cheesecake, which was 3-1/2" - 4" high, with ample strawberries and sauce. It was to die for! Our servers, Cheyenne and Meredith, were very efficient, attentive and friendly during my whole time there. I commend them wholeheartedly!! I would definitely like to try more menu items at this establishment! I usually take pictures of my dishes when I dine. However, I simply forgot this time until I got my dessert.
