One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. No one to greet you at the door, then someone appearing to be possibly a mgr. Finally appears with a very bad attitude clearly seems put out to even seat us. When we asked for a booth he was even more agitated and mumbles he has to have one set and basically just left us standing there so we sat ourselves. He threw our menus on another table. We finally got up and grabbed them ourselves. A waiter did not show up for 15 minutes. They were not busy there were only 2 other tables so no excuse. We were ready to get up and leave when a clearly inexperienced waiter finally came over and took our drink order then disappeared for another 15 min. Still no drinks. Had to wave him down and he acts surprised that someone other than him didn't bring our drinks. Another 10 minutes to get the drinks. He was attempting to walk away again after finally bringing them when we asked to place our order. Did not write anything down and the endless salad he talked us into was horrible. Huge peices of warm lettuce mixture with terrible balsamic dressing saturating it. It was inedible. The food was equally disappointing and the lasagna took 20 mins. Gave the pizza away to a homeless person begging outside the door when we left it had one price out if it if that tells you anything. Overpriced and underwhelming. But the worst part was had to flag waiter down again to get check it came with no pen so walked to bar to borrow one when I heard the same rude mgr. Berating an employee with profanity because he was asked if the garbage could be taken out. I wonder if the owner is aware of this behavior? We arrived at 9pm on a Saturday night and did not get out until 11pm. Absolutely the worst service and personnel ever. Will never give them my business again. Really sad because Joliet really needs better dining establishments. Was so dissatisfied I felt I had to post this. I hope the owner sees this and does something about it. Especially about the so called mgr. On duty. 7/22/17 really...
Read moreYesterday we went to Juliet's to take a friend out to dinner. There were three of us. Two of us have been there several times before and the first thing we noticed was a significant reduced choices on the menu. Current menu on their website is not accurate. Had we been aware of this we would have made a different choice of restaurants. In addition, many of the items we tried choosing from the limited menu were not available. They did not have sausage, hamburgers, shrimp, peppers, or any gluten-free items yesterday. After placing the order we had a compromise on items that were not available ie peppers on the linguini. We were given bread upon request but can tell that it was very old and stale. Other than the spaghetti that was ordered by our friend, we found the chicken sandwich and the Alfredo with chicken very bland. Both of our chicken was dry and overcooked. We felt bad for our waitress as we know this was not her fault and still tipped her 20% and she offered us each a salad for free. In the past we were offered all you can eat house salad for $6, but now they charge $6 per bowl. When asked why not endless, we were told they had to follow CDC guideline and not put use the same bowls. However the salad came in one bowl and received three separate bowls. Little confusing considering they could have added more salad by just adding into another main bowl. I understand this causes washing one more item. Based on the menu that was given to us we really only had about four to five choices. Without the Groupon our bill would have been over $70 for three people and the food we received was nowhere near that quality. One of us had tea and 2 had water. In the past the food that we had received was much better but at this time we will not be returning to Juliet's. In addition they changed parking hours and you have to pay anytime you park before 7:00 p.m. The signs do not clarify that.we even asked for places to park and we're misinformed by people, so many were not aware of the changes of the parking in...
Read moreBased on the hours it provides online, it's always a good idea to call ahead and check what time a restaurant's kitchen is open until. I called ahead to see what those hours were, and also to set a reservation, the girl on the phone had a bit of attitude and said the kitchen closed at 9:30 tonight, fine, set a reservation for 2 at 9:15 because that's the earliest we can get there. It seems to be a popular trend in Joliet to close the kitchen depending on management discretion. The friend I am joining for dinner got there a little earlier than 9:15, I arrive shortly after. Server greets by asking what I want to drink, by the time she's back we're ready to order. They provide some dry french bread, a little bit of Parmesan on a plate, and oil and pepper on the table. Meal comes, I had the $18 ravioli, probably 6 ravioli in the order, it was alright, paid $3 for garlic bread to go with it and as a smaller-framed woman, I ate all of it if that tells you anything about portion sizes. Friend got the chicken sandwich covered in red peppers, arugula, and a sun-dried tomato bun, with fries. Fries were a little under cooked, not quite that golden brown we all know and love, and the sandwich was just okay. The staff was just eager to get us out, which I understand, and we did everything to move us along as quickly as possible, but as a server you should create the illusion that you are glad these people are here. At least fake a smile for me, I felt like a total inconvenience when our order was in by 9:30, and there was another table sat after us around 9:45, so we couldn't have ruined your day that much. I felt like a burden, I had to ask for water even though there were two empty glasses on the table the whole time, the service lacked elegance, luster, and genuine appreciation. As a server, I would just like to say that I am not impressed, by anything that Juliet's...
