I had a great experience at the Golden Coral. I could tell you about the attractive building, clean, well-lit parking lot, good food, shinny floors, clean restrooms, and fair price. My pictures will tell all that and much more. I want to talk about what you can't see in the photos.
I was greeted with a big, Hello, from a well-dressed young lady named Brandy. She had an authentic smile, a present soft voice, and a courtiers manner that would tell anyone she enjoyed her work and customers. My glass was refilled several times and never empty. I ask for extra silverware, no problem. My table was clean, used plates were removed promptly, and all were completed with that beautiful smile as was the other tables. You can expect a little glitch when your server is overworked. Brandy was quite busy, moving at a quick pace, serving other tables besides mine. Other customers also were treated as well as myself. In all fairness, I have to tell you. I eat at Golden Coral often. Brandy is one of several servers that know my first name. All of them give me above-average service.
NOTE: Good, bad, or ugly. My reviews, are based on personal experiences and opinions. Photos, are never manipulated. They represent the facts. I have no affiliation or receive any perks of any kind. I wish for everyone to have a pleasant experience. I hope my opinions are helpful.
FOR MANAGEMENT: Brandy said she had been with you for three years. Due to her overall customer courtesy and service, I would like to say a word for her. Maybe, Employee of the month. I would rate your staff 8 out...
Read moreThey should have gave this restaurant another name because it does not come close the what I’d come to expect from a Golden Corral. First issue is there’s no where inside for lines to wait. Stood outside for so long and expected a long wait once I got inside. To my surprise, the cash register is right by the front door. Also got tired of employees trying to squeeze through the long line so they could come to work. Is there only one way in one way out?
Once inside it looks like there are not many tables at all. The salad bar is on one side of the room and the hot foods on the other. They had the smallest buffet I’d ever seen in a Golden Corral and they were slow to replenish items. Even had to ask the staff to put serving spoons out. Some of the food was overly seasoned with one dish so spicy I started coughing and had to get water. Even my kids thought it was too spicy and they love to eat spicy foods.
I had trouble finding options I liked. I’m not a big steak eater, but I was this time. It was the only meat that tasted ok.
Through all the problems, the staff was always kind and helpful but unfortunately, next time, I won’t waste my time. I’ll go to barnhills in Jonesboro or to Golden Corral in North Little Rock. Sorry, but I must pass on this version of my favorite restaurant. It’s not up...
Read moreSince being back home I've had the "pleasure" of eating here now maybe a handful of times...I love Golden Corral but this location gives it a bad name and reputation for sure...the restaurant looks like it's going through a partial bankruptcy and had to liquidate all its pictures, over head music etc....just bland like the mashed potatoes...tonight was probably the worst visit ive had here, didnt realize they were closing in 30min, cashier didnt even alert us of it either...and if your curious if wr paid full price or not for food that was no longer being rotated out for fresh let alone eat a steak that was included in the price to eat...yes, yes we did pay full price and we are not happy about it either. I can assure you this, we won't be back. Only thing that made it slightly less stressful was that we had a sweet and kind waitress. If you go be sure to ask if you can view the food on the line because not just this time but my previous times food was old and dried out from the warmers being set on hell...also check and see how they keep the steaks till they are ready to be cooked, we definitely don't store our raw meats that way at home...
