We had a party of 9 people, and arrived at 6:00 pm on Saturday evening the 7th of December. We were quickly seated around the Hibachi Grill. Initially the experience started off fine. We were greeted, our drink order was taken by DJ who was polite. After about 10 minutes into our evening, the air conditioner was turned on (I am still struggling to understand why since it was 40 degrees outside) and the temperature in the room we were seated dropped 15-20 degrees. It was miserable. One of the guest with us went and spoke to the manager after we had complained to the chef and also DJ several times. A manager came to the room to tell us that they were going to adjust the temperature. That did not happen. I ate my entire meal with my coat on, as well as did others. The food was cold minutes after it was served to us, and everyone ate cold food. It was so cold I was shaking, and could not enjoy the evening. After we paid what was over $400 for the worst experience I have had in a restaurant, I called back to speak to the manager once more, to ensure they understood the severity of the situation. The manager informed me that the were "having an issue with the heater". When I explained to her the heater was not the issue, but instead the air conditioner that was blowing directly down on us, she stated she would check into it. I have eaten at many restaurants of all sizes, and quality, both in food and price. I must say, this is the first time that I felt someone cared so little about the guests inside the restaurant, I felt it should be know. There are many great restaurants in the Jonesboro, AR area, and unfortunately this establishment is one that should be avoided at all costs. I hope the management takes this seriously and ensures this does not happen to...
Read moreSecond time we've walked out without even ordering. I don't know if management has changed or what is going on with our formerly favorite hibachi and sushi place, but its just not the same. This summer we attended with 3 kids, and 2 adults, and had to wait 20 minutes at a hibachi grill watching a family of 4 at a separate grill get seated, served and started right away. The waitress insisted we wait to make the table fuller, we were already full with 5 of us. She insisted, and then moved us to the side of the grill, the kids wouldn't even get to enjoy the view. After waiting 20 minutes, we simply got up and left. We like to give the benefit of the doubt, so we just returned tonight, and attempted the sushi bar. Used to be an all time favorite, we love sitting at the center of the bar to watch the sushi cook make the sushi and we tip him. Tonight we were a family of 3, and the waitress insisted that we could not sit in the middle of the sushi bar even when no one was at the bar because it was a "station" and the waitresses needed the "center" of the sushi bar to traffic in orders. That meant my daughter and I could sit under the menu out of sight and my husband could sit 4 stools away on the other end. The bar was dirty and hadn't been wiped down. We sat for 5 minutes, and then realized it just wasn't a sushi bar any longer. Really disappointed. Wish the customer service was better because the food is tyically...
Read moreArrived at 4:00 p.m. on a Saturday. Rainy outside. Asked for a seat to just order sushi. Sat at the Booth line across from the bar. The waiter was very attentive, polite, no complaints whatsoever with him. However there were two women who were rolling up silverware into linen napkins and just talking about everything. Talking about service in the military, talking about having to roll up the silverware, talking about other employees not doing their jobs... It made it a horrible atmosphere. Over on the other side of the room, people sat at the traditional Japanese style grills having the time of their lives. I felt like we were side thoughts stuck in the basement.
I don't know how two women could be so tone deaf. My meal cost the same amount as the people who are seated in the other part of the restaurant. Why would they think my meal wouldn't matter?
That aside, I had a tuna tataki and it was obviously sliced before being cooked on both sides. I did not eat it but it was only $10 so I didn't really say much I had one other roll that was very good. Friend had a bento box and he seems pretty happy with portions.
Too expensive for the quality of food and lack...
