Caroline's — Restaurant in Joplin

Since moving to Joplin, Caroline's has become one of my fav places to go on the weekends.....and sometimes the weekdays as well! Love their ice cream and the selection...some of which I haven't seen anywhere else for decades (i.e Superman and Smurf ice cream).

The only big quip I have is that they have been closed on at least several occasions when I went by and the hours listed on both Google and in the restaurant itself indicated they should be open. I understand things unexpected come up, but gas is too expensive to waste these days! If they would give advance warning on when they will be closed, that would be very nice.

Also, the prices here, like pretty much everywhere else serving dairy products, have gone up drastically since I moved to JoMo back in January. I've found it's a good idea to pay close attention to the prices handwritten on the chalkboard behind the register and on the display cups/cones on the counter rather than on the main board behind the ice cream counter in order to avoid any "checkout surprises".

Despite the above issues, I will continue to be a patron of Caroline's and I highly recommend this...

My first visit and I really wanted it to be good.... here 50 minutes before closing and I was told I couldn't get ANY coffee product because they had already cleaned all the equipment! Blueberry pie roll is Very stale. That is unfortunate since I ordered a water in place of coffee which I won't be drinking because it came out of sink faucet that has a large sign on it stating "HAND WAS ONLY". My hope after all of this is that my vanilla bean ice cream would be GREAT but... it's woefully average... lots of granular ice particles like a store brand ice cream has. My daughter's ice...

Caroline’s is a great place to stop when you have a sweet tooth. It’s located in the Griffin building in Joplin, MO. There is plenty of parking on site. You can get everything from different kinds of candy to coffee and ice cream. It’s easy to get sugar overload. I ordered a 2 scoop sundae. The Butterfinger and chocolate ice cream made a delicious combination. It was thick, smooth, and full of flavor. You can also add a wide variety of toppings.
