Stogey's Coney Island — Restaurant in Joplin

I liked it for the most part. One gripe. There's been absolutely no seasoning on their fries the last couple times I've been. Not even their curly fries which are traditionally meant to be seasoned with salt, onion powder, garlic powder, cayanne, and paprika. Those seasonings are what are ususlly associated with the curly fry flavor that we all think of when we order curly fries, but none of that was on there it was just potatoes thrown into a fryer and taken out and put on the side and if there was seasoning on the fry there wasn't enough for it to come through at all. The fries the last 2 times I've been here weren't as crispy as I think they should have been. They were actually quite soggy. The curly fries were crispoer, but perhaps not as crispy as they probably should be. I also tried the chili cheese fries and even then I feel like the fries needed to be seasoned. There's nothing fun about unseasoned soggy fries on the side. I'd love if they'd just season the fries even if it's just a traditional run of the mill seasoning mix. Anything would have been better than nothing. The service was great and staff were nice, the place feels kinda like someone's front room or hangout den. Drove past this place yesterday and it was PACKED. Told my wife we had to come in and see why. OMG! They have the BEST hamburger I've tasted in my life! Everything from the toasted bun all the way to the hand diced FRESH onions was prepared perfectly. The burger was cooked to the perfect level of doneness. This was not some frozen pattie. This was fresh meat hand formed to fit the bun perfectly AFTER cooking. My wife had a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich that was prepared just as perfectly as my burger. She doesn't eat peppers...so she just got onions...which were caramelized just right. Once again, the perfectly toasted bun. This would have been enough to get 5 stars...BUT...they offer 2 different styles of fries. Both served so hot you can hardly pick them up when your plate arrives. They also have chili and spaghetti....I MAY try one of those next time! I will make a point to visit Stogey's EVERY time...

We had lunch here last Saturday it was Awesome from our Waitress to our meals. Today Monday 9/13/21. Our waitress KELLY was beyond RUDE. Our Food was terrible I asked for No Onion, just mayo, lettuce, tomato & pickles. It came Loaded with Onion the so called lettuce was a combo of some kind if mixed greens, the Buns were Burned so Bad you couldn't even bite it. KELLY never came back to our Table except when she sat down our food. She said they had No Lettuce. So when I went to pay the young lady taking the money asked how it was when I explained she offered to remove it from the bill I said they cooked it I'd pay. At that point KELLY walked up there and because I said it was terrible and her service was Poor. SHE ACTUALLY TOLD ME.SHE HOPES WE NEVER COME BACK TO THE RESTAURANT. AND SHE SAID IT IN FRONT OF 2 OTHER EMPLOYEES. IF THIS WAS MY ESTABLISHMENT SHE'D BE LOOKING FOR ANOTHER...
