I can only go by what I know and I know that what I got today was 5-star worthy!
I didn't get there until 11:30 as I was running errands and then realized that this place was in the area and that I had wanted to try the donuts.
Thankfully they had some left, only about 4 trays left of various kinds. I went with the Maple Bacon (which I went there for) and then decided on a Velvet Cheesecake Icing filled.
Yum and Yum on both! Donuts both were cake like, moist, fresh and delicious. Both of the icings were flavorful and not sickeningly sweet.
Now I'm stuck in a dilemma as donuts aren't my "go to" craving thing, however, they are something I'll treat myself to when I know good donuts can be had.
Krispy Kreme Raspberry filled were a treat for a long time as they had shops all over NJ and then closed them. Never cared for Dunkin Donuts outside of the munchkins. Little Debbie's powered or chocolate are good in a pinch, Wawa's get a fresh delivery at 11pm which are fresh and even Public's has a quality glazed plain original.
But when it comes to true donut shops, variety and fresh are the tops and so, I'm getting up early tomorrow so I can be there first thing at open. I'm hoping they have Crullers (the powered kind), I definitely want to try a raspberry or blueberry filled, one that is either chocolate cake, definitely another each of the Maple Bacon and Velvet Cheesecake, and then I'll just have to see what else is being offered at that time.
Oh, and the price... is right. I've been priced out by other places at times as I can't justify spending that much on two donuts whereas these were worth every penny and allowed for more to be enjoyed!
New customer and I hope it doesn't become...
Read moreJupiter Donuts is a regional stalwart that rules the local donut business here in South Florida. The only competitor that it really has is a little known, Boston-based gain known as Dunkin'. Haha!
In all seriousness, get to a Jupiter Donuts early, especially on a weekend, because even though their hours are listed as 6am-noon, they'll be sold out and closed way before 12 o'clock arrives.
On my last visit, I was there just before 7:30 am on a Saturday and their little parking lot was a hive of activity with patrons either vying for places to park or trying to get their freshly secured donuts home to family and friends.
They always have a great selection of cake and yeast donut classics and more updated varieties that feature the likes of candy or breakfast cereal toppings. For example, they make a great "old fashioned" and banana chocolate cake donuts, and the raspberry and chocolate glazed yeast donuts are to-die-for! Then you can always get Snickers or Butterfinger topped donuts which at some childhood nostalgic decadence to the flavor party. Really, you can't go wrong.
They also have a menu with some breakfast items, though I must admit I've never tried them.
So, if you're in the area and craving donuts (and it's the early morning), make a stop at Jupiter...

I have been here several times whenever my sweet tooth kicks in and have ordered a ton of different donuts. Each and every one is delicious, fresh and homemade, so you're really getting the royal treatment whenever you eat one of these donuts.
In honor of Homer Simpson, my favorite donut is the strawberry sprinkled donut, which is huge, fluffy and topped with just the right amount of frosting and sprinkles. This place has other varieties of donuts like Snickers and Samoa, which are both excellent as well.
The cake donuts are fantastic, and, well, I could go on and on. Prices are fair, and the service is friendly.
You should, however, call ahead to order your donuts since they sell out very quickly (often by 9 a.m.). Yes, they're that good.
Run, don't walk,...
