Sharing from other site as well, as far the experience at Peru Wok. The server was seriously rude, couldn't care less about his job and made us feel like we were bothering him for any requests. He even offered us only 2 table options (one literally inside the front door or the other next to a crying child). We took the table by the door meanwhile 10 mins late another couple came in he sat them at another table we weren't offered. Just an odd thing to do. Now with regard to food - Peruvian food is synonymous with lime (think Ceviche the dish of the country) so we ordered conchitas (and asked for lime and aji with it) only to told by the sever in an arrogant tone ‘we don't have lime and don't offer that for patrons’. I'm sorry WHAT?!?!?! This is a Peruvian restaurant right? How can there be no limes and how will you prepare the Ceviche? (He brought us lemons!!!!) Ha. The anticuchos were ok however the enitre dish itself were way over-salted and the meat was over cooked. Anticuchos should be served quite tender but this was leather. Next, the ceviche, it was solid however the camote was miniature and the choclo corn was dismal at best. Also, still trying to figure out how they made the Ceviche since they don't have limes per the friendly server. Overall, we won't return due to terribly arrogant server and service as well as the mediocre food. Too bad, we'll continue to drive south for our Peruvian food! Best of luck Peruwok, think you will need it! For what it’s worth, your AC is broken as well. Needs Freon or compressor checked - this is the tip I offer...
Read moreWe were in about a week or 2 ago & from all the reviews I was super excited. We love Peruvian food and we have it all the time. I have worked in many authentic Peruvian restuarants NOT La Brasa or La Granja and I was severly disappointed with Peru Wok we ALWAYS order Anticuchos & Papa a la huancaína at EVERY Peruvian restuarant we visit and we were NOT impressed. The anticuchos are not grilled they are cooked in a Wok and they were extremely chewy. I told the waitress about it and she just shrugged her shoulders. The papa a la huancaina was cold almost frozen and the huancaina sauce was bland had no flavor at all. I asked the waitress if they had any sauces like Aji Verde She stated they only had Rocoto which is fine but she mentioned that Aji Verde was NOT Peruvian. I was taken back. I still can't believe she said Aji Verde is not Peruvian now the sauces they make at the restaurants stated above are not Peruvian but how dare she say Aji Verde is NOT Peruvian when it is made with aji amarillo & huacatay & they are very much Peruvian. My husband had the Tallarin Saltado de pollo and it had too much vinegar & the tallarines were overcooked. If true Peruvian food lover's frequented this restaurant they would not have that rating. I am being quite generous giving 4 stars and it's all because we support...
Read moreI'm usually a man of many words but I'm left almost speechless. Went there last night for about the fifth time with friends from out of town. So many times you brag about the cuisine, and then your friends are nonplussed or just shrug their shoulders and say it was "good". Our friends were blown away as were we the first time we walked in. Carolina and her husband, the owners, are just the most beautiful people. We found this gem a few months ago and are continually impressed by the different dishes we try. The flavor is exquisite, the presentation is unbelievable, and every dish has a picture you can see on a tablet before you order. The interior was designed by the owner and his father-in-law and everything in there screams we care about our service and the product we delivere to your table. Run, don't walk and try this as soon as...
