Disappointed Birthday Tradition Ruined
We’ve made it a yearly tradition to visit this Denny’s every May 12 to celebrate the birthdays of our grandma, sister, and cousin. Unfortunately, this year’s visit was a huge disappointment.
We arrived around 10:30 AM and placed our order with Shannon C. The problems started right away when we were told only one person could receive the free Value Slam birthday deal—even though we had three birthday guests, and this has never been an issue in previous years. We also saw current promotions like the "Buy 1 Grand Slam, get 1 for $1" and the "$10 Super Slam," but Shannon said we couldn’t order them and would need to check with the general manager.
Another server, Mayra, stepped in and explained the same thing, but at least she was more polite. Then the GM came over—wearing a pink cardigan and no name tag—and she was just flat-out rude. No warmth, no apology, nothing. She said she’d speak to her district manager, but we never heard anything back.
Mayra ended up being our server, but the service only got worse. We watched multiple tables come and go while we waited endlessly for our food. When it finally came, my meal was missing and didn’t arrive until 10 minutes later—and it was clearly rushed. The hash browns were undercooked and soggy, even though I had asked for them to be crunchy.
We noticed a sign saying the place is under new management, but based on our experience, they might need newer management. What used to be a happy tradition for our family has turned into a stressful and disappointing memory. We won’t...
Read morewell first of all i try not to complain about my food...... first off asked the server some basic questions about the menu as she was ready to take our order but could not answer it so she called her associate over to answer then my server left in the middle of everything one would think she would stick around to try to improve her ability to serve her customers but no it took another five minutes to return to complete our order.....then when the food finally arrived at our table the veggies were cold was suppose to get three slices of turkey but only received two with something that looked like some scrap pieces they thought that was good enough vs. a whole piece....i asked for extra gravy at the time I ordered the dinner you guessed it it did not show up with the dinner then it took me two request to get the server to bring some more the bad part about everything is that the server needs to be more attentive the server I had would walk away in the middle of what you saying.....outside of really poor services food being cold no flavor it was still a really bad dinner. well all i can say is that don't wast your money or any part of your valuable life go next door to Del taco much better chances of a...
Read moreFood: EXACTLY as I ordered it. Medium rare steak, well done hash browns, and over medium eggs…not a tall order, but I frequent 24 hour restaurants, and you’d be surprised. I subbed pancakes for the toast. Even the pancakes were at a pinnacle balance of outside color & fluffy interior. Point is, I had no complaints. The food was excellent. 😁 Service: Warm greeting, prompt service, attentive to detail, and even somehow knew to bring an extra butter that I didn’t request. 🤔 Bringing extra napkins with the food is big in my book. ✅ I hate when I’m left with just the one napkin that was wrapped around the utensils. The only thing I like, that she didn’t do…. After 2 minutes of dropping off the food, she’s supposed to check in to see how the food is. Seeing as how I enjoyed the food so much, it wasn’t an issue. 🙂 I will say that I was the only order in, at the time, and all focus was on just the one customer. However, I can’t argue with results. 👍 In conclusion, it would serve well to maintain a consistency of this experience. I understand there are rush hours, and you get slammed. I’m just...
