FOLLOW-UP VISIT: So, a couple of weeks after my first post, I am back at the Mira Loma location and I am happy to report that the cleanliness is much improved. The condiment bar is clean and fully stocked. The bathroom is still old and in need of repair (the sink still leaks), but it's really clean this time. The food is great. The service is friendly and efficient.
Maybe I came after a dinner rush or with brand new employees who are still learning. Either way, much better this time.
The only critique I have is that the Chino Hills location has a frequent diner card, but I didn't feel like driving that far with the holiday traffic. Other than that, I am satisfied.
If this location fixes the bathroom sink and adds a frequent diner card then I will never have a reason to go to the Chino Hills location.
INITIAL VISIT (2 STARS): The staff is was very friendly but the condiment bar is unattractive and not well stocked. The bathroom sink leaks (more like pours onto the floor). My order wasn't entirely correct but the onion ring portion was larger than the Philly's Best in Chino. That said the one in Chino has a frequent diner stamp card, the staff is also nice, the manager is not, and their condiment bar is more attractive and the restaurant is...
Read moreThis location of Philly's Best does a brisk business but the service is fast and friendly and it doesn't take long to get your food.
It's hard to go to Philly's Best when you're on Keto, but they surprisingly have a selection of salads. I got a salad piled with steak and cheese with grilled mushrooms that was fantastic!
Others in my party all ordered the classic cheese steak and the steaks were grilled to perfection. The cheese in the picture looks like they scrimped but the picture didn't do it justice. The cheese was generous, melted thoroughly throughout.
The service is excellent. The fries were not ready at the same time as the sandwich, so they brought the fries to us. When the fries arrived, they were piping hot, natural cut and crispy. The server gave us extra ranch, too, and told us to just ask if we needed anything else. It was the little extra effort that I appreciated.
To me, the prices are high compared to fast food restaurants, but it's absolutely worth it. I've heard that once you've had cheese steaks in Philadelphia, nothing can compare. Since I've never done that, Philly's Best cheese steaks are the...
Read moreI have eaten here numerous times, but lately, the cook, and the cashier seem to be playing a little scam with the meat. I have caught the numerous cooks that seem to flow in and out of there, purposely skimming the meat. While I am paying the cashier, I have caught the cooks, a couple of them, putting half, or smaller portions of that frozen meat on the grill. They try to dice it up as quickly as possible so the customer wont notice the shortage. One time I ordered TWO "Rocky" specials from the cashier. The cook was in back, so the female cashier put two single servings of the frozen meat on the grill. A "Rocky" special is double meat per sandwich, so she should have put FOUR single portions of frozen meat on. If you go there, make sure you watch that cook put the correct portion of meat on the grill before he starts chopping it up so you dont notice you have been shorted. Funny thing, the owner has cameras everywhere. I guess he would claim he...
