Nick and Nino's Pub — Restaurant in Kansas City

My sisters and I took a sister trip from Omaha to kcmo. We stayed at the Holiday Inn-Airport and we were so happy there was somewhere to get food and drinks close. It was packed and they were playing good music. We weren’t greeted when we came in but we figured it was self service so we sat ourselves. I went up to the bar to order us a round of shots, I handed the bartender my NEBRASKA ID. She took it, said she scanned it, and it came back as a fake so she couldn’t serve me. I asked if she could scan it again because it was my actual ID. She went and told the other bartender something with my ID in hand and when she came back, all the other waiters came with her, said it was a fake and the only way they could verify it is if the police were called. I was okay with that because at this point it felt like I was singled out. My older sister came up to the bar and said we can just go somewhere else so we left. I’m not sure if they just didn’t want to serve us. I’m not sure if it’s because we were the only group of black people there. I don’t even know if she actually scanned my ID. But I do know it ruined the rest of my night and it was honestly embarrassing. I would have respected it more if she just said she didn’t want to serve us. We just ended up going to BWW. Stopped in for dinner with friends. It was not very busy but from the service you would think otherwise, also do not pay for the Ami juke box the servers will skip your songs and you will constantly have to request refunds from the service the only songs they cant skip are ones you pay the 7 credits to skip the line. Those cant be bypassed by their manual system.

Plastic cups about 7 oz expect for a pitcher of water to be brought to your table after 1 refil or after it becomes a hassle, if you order appetizers and even if you submit them 10-15 min before submitting your meal, they will still come out the same time as your meal.

The specials are not honored in the receipt and not automatic so make sure if you get a food or drink special you review your receipt before paying.

I enjoy a good dive bar, but this pool hall from the outside and the photos is not marketed as one. Floor was sticky bathroom stalls were out of toilet paper.

I will say even after a horrible 2 out of 10 customer service, and a 1 out of 10 atmosphere. The food was suprisingly very good. 8 out of 10 overall so an opportunity for take out if your in town visiting and staying at a local hotel. And the price was favorable for the wallet.

I tried to order their sunday drink special the starburst. The receipt read sweet tart. So i dont know what drink i actually got 9 out of 10 and video will be posted via here...

If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would!!!!! My fiance and I frequent Nick and Ninos as a way to get out to the city and enjoy some food, pool, and drinks. However we will NEVER return! On our last trip there we went in for a late lunch/early dinner. Per the usual for mid afternoon the place was not crowded, at all. Maybe two or three other tables outside of ours. When I got my food, I had to send my food back because they made the wrong thing. Because of this I chose not to tip, THIS TIME. Mind you I have graciously tipped in the past. My fiance and I were standing outside, finishing our drinks before getting ready to leave when a man came out and introduced himself as the owner. He inquired as to why I did not tip, so I calmly and politely explained that it was because I had to send my food back. He then tried telling me that tipping was required, so I stated that if it was required, gratuity should be included in the final price of the bill. He then responded with "Are you going to tip or not!?" At this point literally yelling at me. I told him no - that it was my right whether I tip or not, and he responded to me with "Fine. You both are banned." Ummmm, okay? I can go find literally any other dive around and get the same sub-par service. Brewtop is one exit down on the highway, and way better in my opinion anyways. DO...
