Edit to Review in Response to the Owner: The menu above the registers specifically states raw beef. So, I assumed the beef is supposed to be served raw. The owner was not standing by the register and I believe that ithis lack of accountability on the owner's part for the action of their employee is reprehensible . Also, I find it is super offensive that the owner's response to me is that my questions seem like I have never eaten Asian (not oriental because oriental identifies objects not culture) when I specified exactly what my questions were in my review and how they are related to allergies. It feels like they are saying I'm not Asian enough. It is very clear that this restaurant does not care about people's health or safety if this is their response to my questions. Personally, I have made Pho better than them. But, I did not want to post this on my original post.
I ordered the Pho Tai. Although, the broth was delicious, I was a bit disappointed with the beef. I was expecting raw beef. And I could tell that the beef was pre-cooked. My shrimp roll was delicious. My 5 year old had the Original Korean Corn Dog and French fries. Unfortunately, I was unable to taste it due to allergies so, I can't provide you with a review here.
So why only the 3 stars. The service needs a lot of work!
This is my first time in the restaurant. So, I had some questions about the menu, specifically how the food is cooked and the ingredients because of my allergy. I was interested in the grilled beef vermicelli bowl, but the illustration on the menu is a meatball. So, I asked is this a grilled piece of meat (round sirloin used for their pho) or a meatball. Most vietnamese restaurants I have been to will serve a grilled sirloin on top of the vermicelli noodle. I also asked what cut of pork is used to make the grilled pork vermicelli noodle bowl and if their broth is made from powder or if they made it homemade. I don't feel like these are offensive questions, just questions to help me better understand the ingredients and make sure that I'm not ordering anything that could trigger my allergy. However, rather than politely answering the questions, the gal behind the counter decides to ask me if I don't eat Asian food very often. I am actually super offended by this question because although I may not look it to her, I'm half Korean. But I give her some grace and I politely tell her, that I have eaten and cooked Asian food everyday since I was a little girl and that I'm Korean. I then proceed with my order. By the way, inspite of the earlier offense, I tip 25%. When I get my order, my Thai Tea is missing. So, I ask if I can have my Thai Tea. First, she says, "he" (another worker) never gave it to you? I say no. Then she turns around, so I assume she is checking and I take my food to the table. So, I go back up to the counter for my tea. After a couple of minutes of not addressing me or the tea, I ask her again if I can get my tea. She said that I never ordered it and I said that I did. She goes to the register and pulls the receipt. It is clear that she forgot to add it and it is no big deal. However, she doesn't take responsibility for forgetting to add the tea, rather she lies and says, I asked if there is anything else that you wanted and you said that you were fine. So, I told her. That is right because I thought you added my tea to the order. How was I supposed to know that you forgot my tea. She then proceeded to tell another lie, "I went over the receipt with you." I told her no you did not. She actually only asked for clarification about what kind of corn dog my son wanted. She then tried to cause a scene by saying that she will pull up the video. At this point, I didn't care and I didn't want the scene in front of my son so I said I'll just pay for the tea. The other worker came over and said he will make and I don't have to pay. But at this point, I was so mad I wanted to pay. We went back and forth about me not paying a few times until I gave in and let them...

THEY STOLE OUR MONEY!!!! This WAS my favorite place to come get bahn mi sandwiches until my recent DINE IN visit with my husband. I will NEVER RETURN. Details as follows: We sat down at our preferred table and was served our food with a smile from both the male and female employees. Before we began eating the female employee was standing near the counter and my husband asked her if they have sweet and sour sauce. She gave an attitude and kept her back to him while pointing in the direction of the sweet and sour sauce. We just assumed she was having a bad day but her attitude was completely different than when she served us the food with her coworker only moments prior. My husband loved the original potato corn dog and fresh spring rolls but he didnāt enjoy his special pho noodle soup so we asked if we could exchange the item for another corn dog and they said yes. We had already spent about $75. Unknowingly by myself my husband ended up also ordering an additional fresh spring roll. When he went to purchase the item the bank had locked his card we sat in the restaurant and tried calling the bank to resolve the issue. I became impatient due to needing to charge my phone for work. I then realized that the cost of the pho did not equate to the cost of the corn dog. While my husband was talking to the bank I went up to speak with the manager and brought the spring rolls he gave to my husband who had held on to them for 15 MINUTES. He said I could give him the spring rolls back. I said so you will take these back and resell it to a customer even though this is a refrigerated item that must retain a certain temperature???? He said yes he would. So I gave them back to him. I attempted to reason with him concerning the costs of the items being that the spring rolls plus the corn dog is the same amount of the soup we already paid for. He disagreed. I asked if we could just refund the soup his response was they donāt do refunds. I said so you are willing to lose a customer that frequents your store and will spend almost $100. He stood there and said thatās all he could do. Then I realized that we PAID for an item we NEVER RECEIVED which was about $4. So they are not even taking care of the customers. My husband attempted to resolve the issues with them. Iāll be sure to never recommend this place, dine in or order DoorDash from this day...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy friend took me to the location in Columbus, Ohio by the mall ā it was my first time ever hearing about this store, and SubhÄn AllÄh, a sister got hooked!
I later visited the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky location the same day, as we were making a trip down there. I picked up some sweets for myself and my mother-in-law ā mÄ shÄā AllÄh, we both really enjoyed them. I came close to their closing time, so many of the items were already gone compared to when my friend and I were at the Columbus location earlier. Still, I managed to get some crab pastries, blueberry-filled items, and a few other pastries ā all of which were absolutely delicious, I wonāt lie.
I usually avoid sweets most of the time, so Iām a little upset my friend introduced me to this spot ā now I lowkey find myself thinking about it! AlhamdullillÄh, Iām just glad that in the state I live in, thereās only one location and itās really far from me. A sister is not driving an hour just for sweets ā AlhamdullillÄh. AllÄhu AŹælam what wouldāve happened if it was only 15 minutes away. Smiles.
That said, I do find them a bit pricey. Each pastry ranges from about $2.99 to $4.99, if Iām not mistaken. We spent close to $60 at the Ohio location and then around $50 at the Cincinnati location.
At both locations, AlhamdullillÄh, I was treated kindly. However, there was one odd moment at the Ohio branch ā we asked to buy a bottle of water, and the worker pointed us to the water fountain. Iām not sure if she misunderstood and thought we were asking for free water ā wa AllÄhu AŹælam.
The setup, especially at the Columbus location, was very nice and inviting ā you can see how a person could easily end up picking out a bunch of things! MÄ shÄā AllÄh.
One thing I did not appreciate, though, is that they were playing music. I really donāt see the need for it, and I personally dislike going into places that have music playing. It takes away from the...
