I stayed here on October 16th/17th and it was a great experience!!! As a wheelchair user it can be quite hard to find nice ADA friendly hotels and while this one had some small quirks it was overall a pleasant experience!
The parking lot is a bit of a nightmare. Tight spaces and not that many. Theres a drinking establishment that shares the parking lot space including outside seating so drunk patrons were a bit of a frequent sight and my window looked right across to it but also provided me with constant eyes on my car just in case. The sidewalk and ramps aren't the best kept so if you're less skilled at traversing bumps, tight corners or steeper ramps you would need some assistance getting into the building. The automatic doors are a bit narrow but manageable (for reference my seat is 18" across) and when I had any issue with the outside keycard access there was always someone in the lobby immediately there to open them for me.
The front main entrance isn't accessible via the same sidewalk you use if you park in a space vs the front checkin area so be mindful of that, the side entrance is the only one I used during my stay.
The lobby is very neat and cozy, with lowered portions of the front desk. The staff both the night of the 16th and morning of the 17th were absolutely awesome. They let me know areas that are normally locked after certain hours would be accessible should I need them at all. Their snack/pantry store was very nice and their eating area was VERY nice. The woman who took my order for breakfast was the nicest as was the woman at the front desk that morning. The food was superb, prepared beautifully and large portions which I wish I couldve taken with me had I had the time to.
The room was amazing, with one of the best accessible bathrooms I've seen in a long time. The sink was higher than preferred and a bit close with the toilet but otherwise beautiful and accessible. The provided shower seat was stable and easy to move, there is a small lip up into the shower which made transferring a little easier for me personally.
The bed was also a little high but taking the comforter off where you need to transfer made this much easier.
The curtains had an accessible handle and the blackout blinds (while it took me an embarrassingly long while to figure out) are controlled by a button on the narrow side of the bed.
Theres an accessible peephole in the door as well! And the rolling desk chair in the room is very transfer friendly as is the desk provided.
The lighting and details were my favorite part. The TV wasn't the greatest due to slow signal or none at all, and I couldn't get the free wifi to work at all unfortunately. But the overall experience was great. There were accessible bathrooms throughout the hotel including the lower level that holds the meeting room I was in on the 17th. Depending on your wheel type some of the carpets can add a lot of resistance.
The elevator was spacious and buttons placed well. The ramp in the lobby is a bit steep even for me. Even with the quirks it was still a great experience and I look forward to returning...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGiving this a one because I canāt give it a negative 10. I paid a lot of money to SLEEP here. Not only am I NOT ASLEEP, I got to be talked to like a child by someone too lazy to make the slightest bit of an effort to fix an issue.
Iām in this hotel right now. Itās 4am and Iāve been up all night because of a blinking light on the ceiling. I called the front desk and this horrible man proceeded to tell me thereās nothing he can do and āwhat management do you think is up at 3 in the morning?ā and I asked him to put me in another room so I could sleep but he just wanted to throw his (lack of) power around by refusing to do anything and then claiming it was because I didnāt let him talk. I let him talk plenty and he expected me to stay in this room and deal with it in the morning. I paid money literally to sleep here because I canāt currently sleep in my own home a few blocks away. I have shingles and am in pain and have to work and itās the middle of the night. I asked for another room and he told me that āall the rooms are the same.ā Meaning they all have a strobe light and thatās how everyone is sleeping right now? I highly doubt that. But once I started getting mad and said I knew there were other rooms, he starts backpedaling and saying that I havenāt given him a chance and that he didnāt say that when he literally had just spewed that nonsense and couldnāt even keep track of his own story,
This man just escalated the situation and sat there on his seat downstairs with holier-than-thou attitude, incited me (awake and angry in the middle of the night) and then chastised me as though he didnāt incite it and then did absolutely nothing.
I stood on the bed and removed the thing that was making the light. It took one second. I called the desk and told him that I fixed it, and that Iām not sure why he couldnāt have just done that. It was SO difficult and required SO much effort.
Iāll tell you why. He was to busy on his personal phone the two times I went out before I tried to go to bed. And he was nowhere to be seen when I came back in. He was too lazy to be bothered to even look into his actual job⦠āwell, hmmmmā¦I wouldnāt know what that could beā¦ā Iām describing to him LITERALLY THE ONLY THING ON THE CEILINGā¦and he doesnāt know what Iām talking about (I assume itās a smoke detector and that it was blinking because it has no batteries in it!) and wouldnāt even lookā¦Iām on the 5th floor, guess thatās too much trouble for him at 4 in the morning. āif I were to come up there, there wouldnāt be anything I could do anyway. ā Well, by all means then, just sit there and do nothing. There are absolutely other rooms available here. He could have made it right in one minute. No one can do their jobs anymore. Ridiculous. Wonāt be leaving tomorrow until Iām fully refunded. Ridiculous. Iāll wait until an hour when the management are available since the people that management hired to run things for them are incompetent and donāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went with my family including small children. We arrived well after midnight as we drove from KY and there was well lit parking but the neighborhood was questionable. There is a security guard patrolling the location. My mom was waiting for my dad outside and she was approached by a homeless person and kept asking her if she was scared of him (which she kept saying no. At this point she should have gone in but she was with the luggage and waiting for my dad). When they walked in the security and staff mentioned that they were watching the interaction (instead of having the security guard come outside and check on the situation).
When we checked into our rooms (we requested two rooms side by side). The rooms are small and not very well lit. But they were clean so kudos to the housekeeping team.
The last night my parents had to check out early and they spoke to the front office staff letting them know that we were still in our room and we would check out later. At 2:30ish AM the phone rang once. I did not get a chance to pick up as it only rang once and did not see who called. Ten minutes later THE DOOR IS UNLOCKED BY THE SECURITY GUARD!!!!! NO KNOCK! NO HELLO?!?! Just opened as if it were his room and said someones in there! My husband runs to the door and looks outside and the security guard, a lady with items in their hands and two small children. They DO NOT SAY ANYTHING (no sorry nothing) and just walk away. As you can imagine I am terrified as trust has been violated and my small children are sleeping next to me in an area I already do not feel comfortable in.
The next morning I ask the front staff for a Manager and she replies that there is none but that maybe she can help. I explain the situation and she just shakes her head and says "I don't know what to tell you. He should have knocked on the door prior". I informed her that I was just notifying her as my review would be going up.
My guess is that they were going to house the lady and children in my parents room since it was already paid for and they knew they checked out and they might have gotten confused on the room. I don't know. I am hoping it was a kind act that went wrong. But I feel violated and would definitely not recommend this hotel at all for anyone...
