we are in town this week for a summer camp for our son. today was our se one visit to the Coffee Station for coffee and a chai. our first visit was decent and we had good service from the guy working the window. I ordered a coffee black and he asked whether I wanted an El Salvador or Ethiopian blend, and my wife ordered a skinny chai.
Today though, we pulled up to get coffee and there was a KCFD ambulance crewmember who had parked the ambulance and walked up to the window to order. it was unexplained, but he was standing at the window before the car in front of us ordered. I am assuming he was told to go to the back of the line ( just my car and the one in front of us, mind you). So he went to stand behind us in line. the car in front of us was taking several minutes to get their order, so the KCFD EMT went back to their ambulance and drove off. I initially figured he had a call as he had his radio out of his pocket as he walked away. Only after we pulled up a few minutes later and ordered, did we see the ambulance across the street at Donutology.
I thought that was a pretty rude gesture by the window attendant since these are the same people they would rely on to save their lives in an emergency.
that was first impression today, back to the our order:
the girl working the window today was let's just say, overall less than friendly. she started out asking for our order- i again ordered a black coffee and a skinny chai for the wife. This time the girl didn't ask what type of brew I wanted and had to ask twice for what sizes we wanted. and then in a rude tone asked if we wanted to leave a gratuity. She also huffed/snickered when I said no.
Please explain why I should be required to tip you for being rude to not only me, but also the KCFD, because you literally only had to hand the drink to us after you asked the barrister to pour a $4 cup of coffee for me and make a chai, and still messed up a simple order? The practice of asking a customer if they'd like to add gratuities is already awkward enough, but after seeing that display of rudeness to KCFD and our treatment resulted in...
Read moreI recently moved into the area and found this shop wonderful on several levels.
Firstly, the coffee itself is fantastic. I get anxious super easy and have found my life is better when I switched to decaf. Most places though, quality decaf is an afterthought. To my pleasant surprise, the coffee I was served had bright floral notes and a well-rounded finish. Just today I asked for a breve and it was prepared perfectly!
The baristas are kind and efficient. While I waited, customers came through the drive through and were greeted by name without introduction!
The shop itself is clean, well-organized and as cosy as...
Read moreI’m not from here we came from Minnesota! Was excited to try a local coffee shop around where we are staying. Found this place and thought it would give it a shot. Pull up and the lady at the window seemed annoyed when I asked what flavors there was. I chose quickly and the drink came out quick but to my surprise when I paid over $7 for a large coffee and she handed me something similar to MAYBE a normal small size. Plus the coffee barely tasted like coffee all I could taste was milk. VERY disappointed and will not be returning during the stay. 0/10 don’t recommend...
