I ordered three floor-length mirrors; all three arrived cracked/broken. Mirrors were flimsy (heavy, but support bars not adequate for length), with virtually no packing material to stabilize them. I called to request return shipping for an exchange and was told I'd need to dispose of them myself because it was against company policy to ship "hazardous materials" (even though they delivered said hazardous materials to me). I asked if replacement mirrors could be shipped to store near me, to avoid having to find a way to cram another 3 broken floor-length mirrors in my hatchback; I was told no. Three replacement mirrors were shipped to me, broken, in same type of packaging, despite spending about 20 minutes describing each box/shipping materials to claims representative on initial phone call. Was told during subsequent call requesting refund, that again, I'd have to dispose of broken mirrors myself, and had to ask multiple times to speak with supervisor for solution greater than offering 40% on my next World Market purchase (I can't take 40% off, if I'm not going to return as a customer). Eventually able to reach agreement to have third-party junk removal company dispose of all 6 mirrors, but had to suggest solution myself, although was later told that they'd done this for customers previously). I never received claim email to follow up on removal cost, so I gave up and paid to have 215 lbs. of broken glass removed from my living room, myself. Very disappointed, as these are gorgeous mirrors, and in World Market for inability to ship fragile items without damage/inability to...
Read moreWorld Market has become one of my favorite places to visit, and there are several reasons why it holds a special appeal to me. Firstly, it's one of the few World Market locations in the area where you can shop for alcohol, which is a nice perk. Beyond that, the store itself is quite impressive.
When I walk through the doors, I'm greeted with the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee or tea, which they offer for free – a thoughtful gesture that's rare to find in other stores. It sets the tone for a pleasant shopping experience right from the start.
The main highlight for me is their diverse selection of snacks, food, drinks, and candy. It's always exciting to explore their ever-changing offerings, and I often find myself picking up a few items that I had no intention of getting! They certainly know how to keep things interesting. Also, they have some of the best international offerings next to a true international market.
While I enjoy browsing through their selection of furniture and home décor, I do find that some items can be a bit pricey. Nevertheless, the quality and uniqueness of their products are apparent, making it fun to "window shop".
All in all, I really appreciate my visits to World Market. It's a store that caters to various interests, and the free coffee or tea is a lovely touch. Although some items can be on the expensive side, the overall experience is delightful, making it a place I like to drop by whenever I'm...
Read moreJust went and looked around with my girlfriend, was going to buy some edible honeycomb because it looked cool and I’ve never actually tried it from the comb. And I’ve been here many times with no incident. We go to check out and I’m looking at the sodas waiting to be checked out and the y’all dude sitting down with the weird hat says he ready to help the next person and as we get ready to approach the register, he calls the woman behind us over and even she looks at us and looks confused because she was not the first person in line. Then we bring it to attention that we’ve been standing in line and the man at the register (rudely, may I add) stops us and tells us that he’s going to help her first. Now I understand being confused with who was first, but after being told that we had been in line before her (quite a few minutes at that) I would have expected some decency. If he had acknowledged that we should’ve been helped or even apologized then we would have continued checking out instead of putting our items back and leaving. Wouldn’t have been the biggest deal even if he was nice about instead...
