Let me tell you about a Popeyes location that is absolutely outstanding! It’s at 6901 NW 83rd Terrace in Kansas City, MO. On my way home, I decided to stop here, and grab a bite to eat. This being fast food, I was really kind of hesitant, but I was hungry. And, for the record, I wasn’t hesitant because this was Popeyes. I was hesitant because I’ve had fast food quite a bit in my life. I ordered a three piece chicken meal, and I could not believe how tasty this chicken was! In fact, after I was finished eating, I could not just leave! I had to tell Renita, the person who served me, how amazing the food was. I told her that, if they served this chicken at a five star restaurant, no one would know the difference! And I meant it sincerely! The food was fresh, it was hot — so hot, I had to give it a minute to cool down. The chicken was so tender, juicy and crispy. I had the spicy chicken, and let me tell you, I was simply amazed! I’ve had people cook fried chicken for me, I’ve had fried chicken at fancy restaurants and I’ve made fried chicken myself. This was, by far, the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. I know it sounds silly, but it is the honest truth. In addition, the restaurant is clean, the team works like a well oiled machine and you can hear everyone communicating about work! Yes, work! And this, my friends, is why the food was on point. I know because, whenever I go to a restaurant to eat, I pay attention to how the employees are conducting themselves. It’ll give you a good idea of how the food is going to taste. My hat is off to Renita, and the crew working with her when I ate there, because, once again, it was amazing! Thank you for finally making me feel like I had a meal that was made with love! You’ve got a new customer at...
Read moreWhen I originally got my order from the person in the drive thru most of the items were missing. I went in and nicely told the person at the front that I didn't receive the items and showed her. She said she was the manager and she helped make what was missing and that it was there, she never apologized that I never got my full order. I stayed calm and was waiting for them to fix it. When it was fixed she pushed the bag to me and was acting agitated. Once again it felt like here it is with no apology for the mistakes that caused me an inconvenience. At this point I had enough, I told her I am a customer who didnt receive their order and you can't even be kind and apologize for it. She said that she had made my order and it was there when she made it. I said but I didn't get my order. It made me feel like she was accusing me of having the rest of the order in my car. I said feel free to go search my vehicle it's not there, I was only given one bag. She refused and then just kept telling me goodbye. This is not how a manager anywhere should act at all. I did nothing wrong but she treated me like it was my fault as a customer. I normally don't say this but this manager needs to no longer be a manager anywhere. I was so upset after all this, I can't believe popeye's would employ a manager that would act like this, it really looks terrible to the brand. I really hope there can be something done about this. Not only should I not have to go through this but no one should have to go through...
Read moreI walked in to get a bite about 20 minutes before work, and ordered on the app. Walking In, I knew I probably wasn't going to get my food on time and I'd have to leave.
I've worked in the service industry so I could understand their order screen and how to clear orders. There were 2 ahead of mine, and many, many, many after. All I had was a sandwich and some beans and rice. in the window sat 2 sandwiches (I later learned were not spicy, so not going to be mine), and a red beans and rice (wrong size)
I do not blame the restaurant for being busy- it's a good thing. It Means you're liked. But I was stressing. I saw employees pointing to orders after mine and clearing ones after mine.
In comes Shelly/Shellie (sorry I missed the spelling!) She used quick thinking and simple problem solving skills to get me out and on my way despite the solution not being literally perfect.
There was no perfect solution. She did not give me more than I ordered, and did not give me any less. She is a fantastic asset to have at this establishment and should be recognized for it. We even had a shared connection because I said "I saw exactly what you did there. Thank you" and she knew i knew. (For context: I had 2 orders of small red beans and rice. None were ready. She instead gave me a large. Great thinking).
I hope this review helps her and nothing else. Thank you Shelly/Shellie for allowing me to eat before a long shift. I...
