Rainbow Restaurant — Restaurant in Kansas City

I used to love this place. I've been ordering from Rainbow for over 7 years. But then the delivery drivers got really weird about two years ago... One asked if he could come in and hang out, another told me his racist conspiracy theories. When I called to tell them, the gal on the phone told me the restaurant had new owners who employed family so the complaints meant nothing. I switched to carry out only and was happy for a while but then I started getting sick every time. It happened several times so it wasn't a coincidence. Then my sister and her boyfriend went to the dinner buffet and both ended up hospitalized with food poisoning. The hospital reported it to the health dept who said they had many complaints and discovered they store toxic chemicals on the shelf above open food containers. I wish they'd go back up to the standards of the old owners, but I'm too afraid to eat there again after these...

I never go out of my way for ratings but the delivery driver stole my money and left. She gave me an ultimatum on how much she wanted in tips after it took her two hours to deliver around the corner from the restaurant. Her name is Magee. She wouldn't give me my change so I could give her tip even though she was unworthy. She stole my cash and left. She also lied. A delivery fee is technically included. What she did was unethical. This employee literally would not give me my change. As far as I'm concerned this is steeling. The driver is only owed what's on the receipt. Anything in addition is the customers choice. She wouldn't even give me my receipt. How unprofessional? On top of that the food was extremely cold and distasteful. Poor service. I'd wrather spend a few dollars extra for quality food and service. Walked into the restaurant to have a meal. Went to the restroom to wash my hands. Came out and the Oriental woman that works there says I need to come and pay first. I walk over and ask, "Do you make everyone pay first?" She says, "Sometime." Then the Oriental woman says, "You can pay now or after, it's up to you." I say, "Normally when you go to a restaurant, you sit down and eat, get the check, and tip the server." There was a young Caucasian family sitting nearby. I asked them, "Did she (the Oriental woman) make you all pay first?" A young lady replied, "No, she didn't." I say, " Weird." The young Caucasian lady says, "Yeah, it is."
