This is one of those reviews that I don't want to be honest with because I feel like I am letting everyone know about a secret. I'm always hesitant because I'm afraid that once everyone finds out it will be super busy. But....because I am so appreciative of all the yelp reviews I read that lead me to these "secret places" I want to help others find awesome places too! This place is super close to the airport and is VERY convenient if you are flying in or out of the airport. It also is worth your time even if you aren't flying.
The MENU consists of breakfast items (served up until 11 am), sandwiches, tacos, salads sides and plate combinations. They also have a deal that for $50 for 2 people you can get a sample of ALL sides and ALL meats. I was tempted to share this with my SIL but we both were leaning towards the tacos, which came recommended by other reviewers. You order up at the counter and they bring out the food to you when it's ready.
ORDERING time! I wanted to try the brisket and the burnt end tacos so I ordered 2 brisket tacos and 1 burnt end taco and by ordering each separately it was more $ than if I ordered 3 of the same tacos. So....we decided that I was going to order 3 brisket tacos (3 to a plate-better deal than ordering each taco separately) and my SIL was going to order 3 burnt end tacos and we would share. It was a perfect way to get the best bang for our buck and provide us with both kinds of tacos. The restaurant provides both indoor and outdoor SEATING. We were lucky to have gone on a beautifully sunny day and so we ate outside. The food was delivered within 5 minutes of ordering and the service was great! So many people came by our table making sure we were doing good and asking if we needed anything. Everyone was so friendly. Kudos to you all for that!
The FOOD was absolutely delicious! Both the meats were tender and so very flavorful. The burst end tacos had cotija cheese and salsa on it and had a great flavor that didn't over power the meat. The brisket was a bit spicier and had the jalapeño slaw and a hot sauce on top. I love spicy food so I really enjoyed it. I think that perhaps for those on the border of not liking spicy food it might be a bit spicy but it's so hard to say. They both were so good that I honestly couldn't say which one was my favorite. I would order them both again in a heartbeat! However, I think next time I go (and you better believe I will be back!) I think I will order the sampler deal and go back at dinner and after I land so that any leftovers I might have, I could bring back with me.
Thank you all at Scott's Kitchen for fabulous service and delicious food! I will be back next...

During our recent trip to town for a track meet, we were fortunate enough to be recommended Scott’s Kitchen, and what a gem it turned out to be! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by Scott himself, who was warmly welcoming and had a great conversation with us. It truly felt like stepping into a family gathering rather than just another restaurant.
The ambiance was cozy and inviting, perfect for our team after a long day of competition. Now, let’s talk about the food—my kids couldn’t stop raving about it, describing it as "slapping!" The BBQ was absolutely phenomenal. You could tell that Veronica, the Pit Boss, really knows her craft; the smoked meats were tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. Each bite was a delicious reminder of why BBQ is such a beloved staple.
The entire staff at Scott’s Kitchen was friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. They went above and beyond to ensure our experience was enjoyable, which we truly appreciated.
The only downside we encountered was the overwhelming selection of mouthwatering options on the menu. With so many delectable dishes to choose from, we wished we had more time to try everything! But that just gives us another reason to return.
Overall, we can’t thank Scott’s Kitchen enough for their exceptional hospitality and unforgettable meal. We will definitely be back next time we’re in town! If you’re in the area and craving BBQ, do yourself a favor and stop by Scott’s Kitchen—you...
Read moreBBQ is always a hard review in KC because if I'm honest we don't really do it all that well compared to say Texas. We have a couple people in KC doing an amazing job but I didn't find this spot to be wowing me in the way they smoke protein. One main protein I will typically judge a spot on is brisket which is what I ordered on my first visit. It was a fairly large portion of lean brisket flat that had to be drenched in sauce to get down. No brisket point meat anywhere to be found in the serving, maybe they are utilizing every bit for burnt ends and beans? I thought the drape on the flat was great but very dry which may be the result of being over cooked, held too long or even a low quality piece of meat, I'm not sure. I got the potatoes and beans as sides and found them to be pleasing to eat and couldn't really ask for better. They tasted fantastic and portion size was great as well! I feel like the atmosphere and service was great but the setup of the ordering station is a little awkward and probably a zoo when they get busy. Service was fast and helpful. Wrapping up, I found the value to be great, unfortunately I don't see myself going back since I actually threw away a portion of the brisket I ordered due to edibility. BBQ is always about the proteins and even though I think this spot did a better job than the big well known KC BBQ chains, I wouldn't say they would be an honorable mention...
