Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Kansas City

I will never ever come to the sonic again. This is one that’s on Barry Road just west of I 29. I waited 45 minutes in line with only four cars in front of me. I think there was maybe one person working at this whole restaurant, taking the orders, taking the money, making the drinks, making the food, running it out to the parked cars, and then serving it through the drive-through the most pathetic experience I’ve ever had at sonic I will never ever come here again. It’s too bad they can’t find people to work or maybe they’re just stingy and don’t wanna put this 430 on Friday, May 17 absurd ridiculous I pull out a line except that I’m bringing these to a sick friend that requested this I will never ever come here again. What a waste of time I haven’t even tried the food yet so no comment on that but the service is pathetic. sitting at the window for food delivery I ordered two little chicken wraps and a strawberry shake so so far they gave me a strawberry soda. I got some chicken wraps in a bag I think but I’ll find out later whether I even got the right thing. I can’t believe this place. I can’t get anything right and I only see two people here and they look like they’re worn out. They’re not busy. They’ve only got three cars in the outdoor pull up and I only see three cars behind me and when I pulled up, they’re only three cars in front of me absurd these poor kids...

Absolutely awful about dietary restrictions, I’m a vegetarian and I live just a few houses down from this sonic so every once in awhile I stop by and sometimes I have to ask for no meat on an item. Nearly every single time there is meat and I’m used to that so I just pull back around to swap it out no harm no foul, but the staff, oh my goodness the staff, I’ve been personally apologized to by the manager, shorter guy with black hair really nice, THREE times after staff refusing to replace my food and being adamant that I had not asked for no meat. I’ve explained to them twice that I have been ordering fast food as a vegetarian for over 6 years and I have always had to ask for no meat and also I THINK I REMEMBER WHAT I SAID 8 SECONDS AGO. It’s been the same 2 staff members each time I’ve had an issue, I think Veronica is her name and another woman with blonde hair and nose piercing. By the way the window is not soundproof and I can hear the rude things you say even when it’s closed. I’ve never had issues with and place like this before, one star because food is good but comes with a side...

Wish I could give no stars… I used to work at a couple of sonics for a few years, and really been missing the food. Decided to go there for breakfast today and completely regret my choice. I was at this location at 10:23am on 10/23/2021, I ordered a brioche bacon sandwich combo with a medium diet coke, a bacon breakfast burrito with added sausage combo with a large sweet tea. Got our order thru the the drive thru and parked in a stall to eat, burritos were a sad excuse of a burrito, hardly any egg and super soggy and rubber bacon. And no sausage like I asked and was charged for. Sweet tea wasn’t a golden brown but was more water and a nasty color instead. Pressed the button to exchange my sweet tea for a diet coke instead, the young lady who answered it was nasty and rude about it. Got my different drink and was a regular coke but just gave up trying to get the right stuff 🤦🏻‍♀️ The name is Devan on the receipt but I believe he was working the window and was just wonderful. Will only ever go to DL Rogers owned sonics from now on and my advice is everyone else...
