"Vietnam Cafe" is the name but run by a Cambodian family. So, obviously, food is NOT Authentic Vietnamese. The environment is NOT any where like a so-call "cafe" environment. The food is generally OK, a certain dishes are real bad, like a joke. The service is extremely bad. Service people are probably family members, therefore, they are possibly not trained in any way in the restaurant service environment. In other words, they just don't know what the proper restaurant table service is all about. In addition, these youngsters immediately become unfriendly especially when you express a slightest indication that you are unsatisfied -- then they stop looking at you, no eye contacts, even when you come up to pay them at the cashier. And of course, no thank-you or any kind of appreciation is offered. This restaurant makes me think of the soup nazi. This restaurant gives a bad name to Vietnamese food. I recommend another simple and down-to-earth one, interestingly, with the same name inside Kim Long grocery store in Kansas City MO. Food are cheap but way better than this Vietnam Cafe. And most of all, the people are...
Read moreThis place is Fantastic. They make great tasting food Period. The wait staff is very good, they aren't overly attentive, the service is perfect. They know the menu inside and out, they know everything that's in every dish, and they keep the place spotless.
The only thing I would recommend is that if you are going to play a big screen TV in the dining room for lunch service to play anything but the Cartoon Network. I suggest the Food Network, Chefs Table or Ugly Delicious from Netflix.
My wife and I have never eaten Authentic Pho before and this stuff was incredible. The brother was a true bone broth, you can see and feel the gelatine from the bones. The flavor is a rich beef flavor, with a hint of Cloves. The noodles are a translucent rice noodles the size of Angle Hair pasta. The also give you a plate if veg, mint, corriander, bean sprouts and sliced jalapenos.
You won't get a better warm meal for $8.50 anywhere in town that will fill you up, but not have you feeling bloated nor weighed down. I felt great leaving this place and can't wait to sneak...
Read moreI'm pretty picky when it comes to my pho, lets get that straight. So when I say that this is the best pho place in town, you best believe it(but there's a caveat)
I haven't been to this particular place ever since the original building got knocked down, which is like 3 years ago so I'd thought I'd give it a try again. Before, the pho was decent.
The first time I ordered was a regular bowl of pho. Let me tell you, they barely give you any pho noodle. My bowl was left with nothing but full of soup.
On my second try, I complained to the waiter about my last order not getting enough noodles. Its whatever so I ordered the XL or supersized bowl of pho and it was perfect. I highly highly recommend to always go with the XL pho. They also give you a HUGE amount of garnishes.
The price of pho has gone up everywhere so the amount they give you here along with great soup stock, this has become my go to place. Usually when I eat pho its at Vietnam Cafe of Cafe Ve but its not as good as here.
I gave the 4 stars for the service because the server girl looks...
