I personally haven't ordered pizza from this location before and was buying pizzas for a b'day party. Ordered online And honestly something told me to not use my card and pay in cash. Primarily because it gives you an option to tip team members when you are driving your gas and your time to pick up the pizza. I DON'T BELIEVE IN tipping when I'm DRIVING TO PICK IT UP AND USING MY OWN RESOURCES. THAT'S ASININE FOR ME TO TIP SOMEBODY WITH I'M DOING THE WORK. IF IT WAS TABLE SERVICE I'M ALL FOR TIPPING WHEN THERE IS GOOD SERVICE. I get there to pick up the order and I'm standing there for about 2 minutes after I had pressed the little ring the bell for assistance. One gentleman walks out of the restroom in the lobby area opens up the door didn't even acknowledge me as I was standing there after he went past the coated door to get back into the back. There was another gentleman back there with him making pizzas and I understood he was busy so I stood there patiently and then finally I decided to ring the bell again and no answer or response and so I decided to cover up this loud microphone in the front and say hey, then someone replies I'll be right there with you okay I'm standing there and still no one shows up for about 30 seconds to a minute so I press the button again and finally someone comes over to assist me. Mind you I've been standing there for at least 5 minutes patiently. now, back to what I was saying about tipping I don't do that stuff anymore when I'm using my resources and had I tipped I would have been pretty offended on the service that I received and for what? Because new society standards on tipping when the person should be doing their job and getting paid and not worried about a tip when they're doing their job. It was not delivery in respect. So finally I was assisted and I received my pizzas and then one pizza did not have the right topping on it and at that point I just wanted to get out of there with the bad service. I do not personally do fast food for myself. I may take others that may want something and pick it up at these different fast food places. This is exactly why I do not frequent these places because of the service and I understand everyone is working but to a point you should always do your job very well and I'm saying that because no matter what position you may have that if people are expecting a tip I would give above and beyond service fundamentally and not expecting it or something in return. I don't recommend this location and I definitely don't recommend the pizzas...
Read moreI'm hyper-tolerant when it comes to service, having served my time in the industry itself. I get it. It's not fun. But that doesn't excuse poor service. I've had several poor experiences, peppered in with a few good ones, however my most recent trip proved to be my last. It went something like this:
I arrived 10 mins late for a carryout order (Pepperoni Lovers w/ extra sauce). Surely, it should have been ready. When I gave my name and order, the employee lethargically walked over to a rack of pizza boxes and started lazily flipping through them. I remained patient, but was quite annoyed. He had to ask me two more times what I ordered before finally looking in a pizza box he'd already checked twice and then walked around the corner where he asked a cook (within earshot mind you) if my pizza had been made. The cook replied with "i dont know" and turned back around and kept working on his current pizza. The employee walked back to the rack, grabbed a box and opened it up to reveal a dried out pizza with no more than 10 pepperoni slices. After he assured me there was more under the cheese, I stuck my hand in the pizza and pulled the cheese back to reveal not only were there no pepperoni, but also no sauce. On an extra sauce order. Right. I told him I was really disappointed and he didn't even attempt to make it right and asked that I pay. I walked out the door.
Despite several sour experiences, not once has anyone (management included) offered to toss in a free item, take any money off the order or even make a passing attempt at resolve. To illustrate my point, I just took time out of my day to write a mini-novel about a piece of garbage Pizza Hut. The 39th & Main location might not get it right all the time, but they are quick to fix it and make the customer happy.
12/27/2017 update: Made the mistake of giving this Pizza Hut another chance. This time, I ordered a pizza at 7:20 and was set a 9:30 delivery time. At 10:30, I called to check the status of my order and the manager told me first it was out for delivery (but I called BS), then he said it’s in the oven and “it’ll be there whenever we deliver it”. (???)
I never received my pizza.
I’m truly baffled by the level of incompetence displayed by every single associate I’ve come across at this location. I don’t understand how any self-respecting establishment could allow this practice to continue but I’m done with Pizza...
Read moreI ordered a pizza online and went to the store to pick it up. They said that they didn't have the product I had ordered which cost $2.00 extra. They offered to substitute a different crust (which was less expensive) without refunding the $2.00 they had charged me for what they didn't have (at no point did anyone from the store contact me to inform me of the problem; they just waiting until I showed up at the door).
The worker at the counter offered me a soda in exchange for the $2.00 (I didn't want soda, because I don't drink it). He still insisted that he couldn't refund the money. They hadn't made the order by this point, so I asked for a refund of the whole ticket. He said he couldn't give me a refund and offered store credit instead. I didn't want to deal with this store ever again, so I insisted on a refund and the worker told me that I was being unreasonable and then told me to go away.
I filed a complaint with the company online and waited the 1-3 days they said it would take for someone to get a hold of me. No one contacted me within that time. I attempted to reach out to the company once again and they told me that it would take another 1-3 business days. At that point I filed a complaint with my credit card company and with the BBB and that was the only way I could get the dispute resolved.
This company took $36.75 from me and gave me nothing in return for it, saying that I was being unreasonable for asking for my own money back when they couldn't provide the service that had been promised, and then they sent me through about 4 days of jumping through hoops to get this resolved. I would recommend that you don't go anywhere near this place. In fact, I will never be dealing with...
