Teriyaki Madness — Restaurant in Kansas City

This place has become one of my favorites since I moved to the area! If you are a fan of teriyaki chicken, or orange chicken, you have to try them out! Their noodles are outstanding. Their fried rice is outstanding. Their veggies are outstanding. Their non-spicy versions have such a great flavor, but I personally love spice in my food about 90% of the time. So far, I've tried their regular spicy style along with their hottest spicy style and oh my!

The regular spicy sauce added an extra level of flavor to it, but for me wasn't at my preference of heat... yet... More on that later. I'd say most people should go for that version at least once and see if they can handle it. Their hottest version was amazing as well, but it JUST BARELY was at my level of "I have to eat a little bit slower" or my mouth would have been in trouble. I've found that my favorite order is the regular spicy chicken teriyaki bowl, large portion (because I love leftovers), veggies, fried rice, and a side of their Mad Sauce (which is their hottest spicy sauce). I only use a small bit of that Mad Sauce on the rice to bring the whole bowl to a perfect harmony of spice and flavor after I mix everything up together. Absolutely DIVINE!!!

I have only ordered for delivery through their app and/or through DoorDash, so I'm not exactly sure what eating inside the place is like. I've never had much of an issue from here with the deliveries. The service though? Absolutely outstanding as well! I actually had a misunderstanding about a delivery one time, and a man that goes by the name -B- went out of his way to offer compensation after a sincere apology. I turned it down only for I could tell he truly cares about that business, and I am not one to take advantage especially of someone with a great business ethic.

I eat here all the time. They’re always fast, food consistent and filling. I placed a pickup order recently on their app: full veggie sub broccoli with spicy chicken and an extra sauce for pickup. My husband who had never been there picked the order up and noted how polite and quick they were as well as the order was ready to go upon his arrival. When I got the order I noticed it was missing the extra sauce and the dish was a bit “drier” looking than usual. Honestly it was fine. It wasn’t how it usually is but it served its purpose. Here’s where they exceeded in every way possible. We finished our dinner and I got a survey request via text. I completed it and mentioned the above. By the next morning I had gotten a text message apologizing profusely for the experience and the offer to make it right. Mind you the food is fine. We had leftovers that will be dinner today. So in no way did it require a do over. I was blown away. But in addition to the text. The store has now called me and profusely apologized and expressed they want to make it right and to their normal standards. How absolutely amazing to have a company that prides itself on their product and customer service to this level. Next time you are picking a quick pick up dinner or need a healthy lunch/dinner spot, I urge you to give them a try. I visited this place for the first time yesterday while in town visiting clients. I had never heard of Teriyaki Madness and realized it had been a very long time since I last had a teriyaki bowl, so I thought I'd give this place a try.

The food was well prepared and done quickly. The Spicy Orange Chicken bowl was filling and had a great sweet flavor but was only mildly spicy. I started to feel the heat once I was about halfway through the meal. I would have preferred a bit more spice but I understand that one person's mild is another person's intense heat, so I don't necessarily fault them for that. I will just make sure to ask for a bit more kick the next time I am back.

In fact, the only issue I had was being able to understand the guy behind the counter. He was a nice guy but his accent made it difficult to understand what he was saying. Others who came in after me also had a similar issue. My suggestion would be to have someone else whom others can understand more easily work the register.
