I found this cute little spot as a mom with a three-year-old just starting school for the first time. I was looking for a cozy place to hang out while he was at school, and as a big matcha lover, I discovered this café on TikTok.
The first few times I visited, I was always warmly greeted by the sweetest girl—it made me feel so welcome. Driving 20 mins away from my home to get to it. I did notice that the guy who makes the drinks (or maybe works in the kitchen) seemed to have a bit of an attitude, but I brushed it off at first.
One day, I was on my way out of town, excitedly telling my husband about this great little place. I ordered my usual matcha, and the woman working suggested I try the strawberry matcha. I didn’t realize it came with whole milk by default. When I told them I needed oat milk instead, the guy making the drink kind of snapped and pointed out that it clearly said strawberry matcha on the screen, almost like it was my mistake. I genuinely didn’t know it came with whole milk, or I would have said something upfront since I’m lactose intolerant. It wasn’t what he said—it was how he said it. The vibe was just off, and honestly, I haven’t been back since. They did make me another one. Idk I just am one of those people if I’m polite to you… there’s no need to be impolite to me. It was just moment that left a sour taste in my mouth.
It’s kind of a bummer because the place itself is lovely. There are games, books, even a printer you can use. They sell teas and have really good pastries—I still think about this one cookie I had there! I had planned to make this my regular spot while my kid was in school, but that one experience made me hesitant to return.
It’s a great little café, but I hope they work on making sure every guest feels as welcome as I did at the beginning. I would def try it out if you’ve never been but make sure you ask what’s in something. Because I excitedly did not lol which again was my fault but the attitude...
Read moreThis dessert place was cute but meh.... maybe my experience would have been different if I ordered crepes as I did see a lot of other tables ordering that. However, what I did order was ice cream and cookies. See below:
Honey lavender ice cream- the best thing we ordered, hands down. It was refreshing and the honey on top just made it perfect. Consistency was creamy and just right. Delicious.
Peanut butter ice cream- meh. It had jelly jam in it to make it taste like a peanut butter jelly sandwich. I wish hey had distributed the jam more uniformly bc it just tasted like either just peanut butter or peanut butter with STRONG jam. It was ok but not my first choice or second for dessert. (My friend ordered this)
Matcha ice cream on snow ice- this was ok. Matcha ice cream was yummy, rich and creamy. The red bean was pretty legit too even though I'm not a huge fan of red bean. Even the mochi was acceptable. The ice though... that was a two thumbs down. It was watered down and by the time we got to it it was a melts gritty mess. It ruined the experience.
Chocolate chip cookie- I find it VERY hard to believe they didn't buy a pack of Kroger for maximum value cookies and place them in their cookie display for sale. The cookie. What a disappointment and I'm the hugest Cookie Monster you could ever find. It was dry, cold and the flavors were very artificial. Can't believe the cookies were handmade. It's not no tiffs treats, I'll say that.
Overall, I had a pleasant experience. My husband liked running under the liquid nitrogen steam with the other kids so that was fun to watch. It's a nice place to get together with friends or family or just to chill study and relax. I would recommend going to check it...
Read moreI never post reviews but this one didn't sit well with me. So, I paused work to take 10 minutes to write a review.
I'm a new customer. The coffee was great. The place was busy.
My wife and I ventured in because she had been a couple of times before and bragged about it to me. So, we went together. My wife ordered the first round of coffee. As I stated, it was great.
However, on our 2nd round of coffee orders, I ordered the wrong drink for her. The young lady would not make another one citing that that's what I ordered but she would be willing to make another one and charge us for the new one (in essence, 5 coffees). So, suffice to say, that's my last time coming here. This location is already 20 minutes from our house, and I just wanted to try something else instead of MoonBUX or DRUNKINS (the names were changed to protect the innocent). But I'm willing to bet that the big chain would have replaced the drink with no problem. And I'm willing to bet that the young lady has sent back an item at some point in her life and asked for it to be replaced.
I'm not saying not to go here, but just be just sure you order correctly, because if not, you're stuck with your mistake.
Yes, it was I who made the mistake, but there was a glimpse of an opportunity for me to walk out of there with a positive experience, return for the experience and tell my friends of my experience of this coffee shop. But instead, I'm making my first review based on my experience and how one person behind that counter is also in charge of the customers experience even after the transaction is completed at...
