Most people agree that private restaurants are often the most satisfying. They usually serve better food than chain restaurants and they are often more memorable in regard to atmosphere and other factors. But there are exceptions to every rule and one pizza chain that is quite good, easily exceeding other chains and on par with a private establishment, is Crust Pizza.
Crust Pizza has locations throughout the greater Houston area but the one I am most familiar with is this one, located in Katy, Texas not far from my house. There is ample parking in the adjoining parking lot and one surprise to newbies is that the entrance, from the parking lot, is the back of the restaurant. You can still walk through to the front from the back entrance, but if you want to get to the front counter directly, you need to walk around the side of the restaurant, which leads to a mini courtyard of sorts with several businesses surrounding it.
The inside of Crust Pizza is nice, with enough seating for a several dozen people. They have tables and booths and the lighting is soft, making it cozy. If you want to watch television while you eat, they have a few, and if you like beer and wine, you have several selections from which to choose. There is outdoor seating and the common area, next to the outdoor seating, even has a play space for kids.
All the above qualities are nice, but what matters most at pizza place is the food and Crust Pizza serves up some delicious pizza. It is promoted as thin crust Chicago style and the crust is made with olive oil, for added healthfulness and flavor. Some of the pizzas offered include Hawaiian, Big Donās Meat and Cheese, Madelynās Alfredo, and several others. You will love what you taste at this pizza place and if youāre not in the mood for pizza, donāt worry- there are many other selections that are equally good, like lasagna, baked mac and cheese, wings, and even subs, calzone, salads, and other options.
Crust Pizza easily outshines other chain pizza establishments and even most private pizza places. You can tell that much pride and effort go into every pizza or other food item and the pleasant atmosphere makes it ideal for families or even those looking for a quick lunch or dinner with a friend. Crust Pizza has much to offer, and it ranks among my favorite local places for pizza and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI would love to give this place 4.5 stars; however, dinner was pretty much a disaster for my husband and I. Note: we loved the chicken wings, the Hawaiian salad, the pizza rolls. My sons got the Hawaiian Pizza & Build-your-own and loved them. Then there was our dinner. We ordered the chicken caprese. It was barely room temperature. My husband asked if they could warm it up. After what seemed forever I went up to the counter and the attendant reported that they felt bad so they were remaking it! You might think that was so nice but I had a feeling it was going to come out the same because of the way itās served. So I let her know I really just wanted it reheated. Note my sons had finished eating and I had to spend my time looking for my food. Finally my husband checked again and they said it was coming out. He said he saw it. I replied that I hoped it came out quickly or itās going to be cool again. Another minute or so passed. They served it with steam coming off so it looked promising. But alas it was cool again. The chicken & pasta were barely room temperature. I asked my hubby to just get boxes and letās leave. It was so disappointing what could have been an amazing time with my family turned out awful as I spent my whole dinner time waiting for the food I eventually ended up taking home when if they had just heated it up in the first place LIKE I ASKEDā¦this may have been at the very least a 4 star review. And the only reason for 3 stars instead of 2 is because the associates were very kind & the other...

The food and location were honestly solidāthe pepperoni and Alfredo pizzas were hot, fresh, and flavorful. The outdoor seating and ambiance made it a nice spot to chill while we waited.
But the customer service? Rough. When we walked in, multiple staff members walked right past us without acknowledging we were even there. I had to approach someone just to be redirected⦠to someone else⦠who then pointed us toward the restroom where, surprise, the actual person we needed to talk to was just walking out the bathroom. No āhello,ā no āIāll be right with you,ā just confusion until he finally emerged and told us he was āthe only one up frontāāeven though we saw multiple employees. Make it make sense.
After ordering, we sat outside and the food came out in about 10-15 minutes. Again, no complaints about the taste. But he dropped off the pizza without napkins, plates, or silverware. I had to go back inside several times just to get basic things.
All in all: ā Great pizza ā Chill location ā Unorganized staff ā Poor customer service
Would I go back?...
