My inaugural visit to Half Shells was nothing short of a maritime odyssey. As I scoured the seas of menu options, the servers, in an act of unparalleled generosity, presented me with an assortment of five soups, each a culinary revelation. The clam chowder and crab bisque, in particular, were a gastronomic crescendo that resonated through the chambers of my taste buds.
Subsequent visits have unfurled a culinary kaleidoscope as I embarked on a journey through the menu's offerings. The lobster and shrimp grilled cheese sandwich, a masterpiece of maritime fusion, leaves me nearly speechless with its unparalleled deliciousness. The fish and chips, seasoned to perfection, transport me to a state of culinary revelry with every delectable bite.
Do not forego the exploration of specials, for within these ephemeral offerings lies the promise of extraordinary gustatory adventures. The diverse fish and oyster dishes that grace the specials menu are not merely recommended; they are a maritime imperative that beckons patrons to indulge in the ocean's kaleidoscope of flavors.

Read moreMy family and I recently wanted to go out to celebrate a special occasion. The weather was nice so we decided to go somewhere where we could eat outside on a patio. We decided to head to La Centerra at Cinco Ranch and walk around until wee saw a place that caught our eye. Half Shells had a nice open patio facing a green space which was great for getting a breeze and people watching. We decided to give them a try and were very glad we did. The atmosphere, service, and food were all excellent! Its a little pricy - but keep your eyes open as Half Shells sends out coupons in local mailers from times to times (we actually had a $10 off coupon). I can't say enough about the service we received from our waiter Kyle! He was awesome - very nice, checked on us often, offered us a small sampler since it was our first trip, and made some menu recommendations that we took his advice on - that were excellent!! He recommended the Lobster and Shrimp Grilled Cheese - which honestly is one of the best seafood sandwiches I have ever had! We also had the fish tacos, and grilled fish sandwich which were also very good...but the star of the night was the Lobster and Shrimp Grilled Cheese!!! Kyle's awesome service alone made the visit worth while, but the food was also worth the price I thought. My only issue with our trip was that in the green space we were facing a kid was blowing bubbles that were blowing directly onto the patio. At first it didn't seem like a big deal - but after a few bubbles hitting us and our food it was a little annoying (not the restaurants fault I guess since it wasn't on their property). Give this place a try - ask for Kyle as your waiter, and try the seafood grilled cheese - you won't bee disappointed!
REVISED - also visited on 06/25/23. Another great meal and atmosphere. Stephanie was our waitress who was very nice and took excellent care of us. We celebrated my wife's birthday and the restaurant treated us awesome. It was a great day and another great trip to dine at this location. BTW - had the seafood enchiladas this time - and they were awesome! Salmon, Mahi, and Shrimp all wrapped up in great enchiladas with excellent rice and bean sides - for $12.99 is a perfect dish. Again - highly...
Read moreToday my son and I came in to dine at Fish City Grill. We were seated but waited for 15 min before serviced in which I had to go into the building, we were seated outside, to let the hostess know that we were ready to order. That was the first issue. The waiter came to take our order. My son and I gave our orders but I inquired about the soup sampler I witnessed a couple tasting. I was not quite sure which soup I would choose. I do not know the waiter, young kid, and he does not know me. He tells me, that’s for new visitors to our restaurant. Again, he doesn’t know me and neither do I know him. I ask him do you know if I’ve been to this restaurant? He then tells me he will get the manager. I wait for the manager. The manager came over with my appetizer but did not address the situation about the soup sampler. I ask him about the sampler. He tells me, “that’s for new customers.” I do not know the manger. I ask him, “Do you know me and if I’ve dined here before? He tells me, “Yes, you’ve been here many times.” “I’ve been working here for 12 years.” I was appalled! This man doesn’t know me! Even if the manager thought I had frequented this restaurant you would think as a manager, he would have enough business acumen to service all customers with exceptional service with the assumption that it was their first time. He caused this establishment to lose a future customer. I politely got up and went to ROUX POUR. They provided excellent service and I did not have ask to be waited on. CRAZY! To have to get up and let the hostess know we were ready to order because we were waiting for 15 min. Fish City smells which tells me there must be a sanitation issue.
My husband and I frequent Las Centerra often, we live in the area but we will NEVER ever EAT at FISH CITY GRILL. I will make sure I share my experience with my neighbors...
