I’ve come here for years to meet friends. We typically sit at a table in the bar. Today, everyone was hungry. The first friend to arrive got a table for 4 inside the restaurant. Our 4th friend to arrive brought her adult daughter making is 5 people at a 4 top table to everyone’s surprise. We were fine but it flustered our waiter. Add to that the fact that I ordered a bar drink and a small queso from the person bringing chips unaware that he wasn’t our waiter further flustered him. The waiter arrived flustered saying he was going to move us to another table. This delayed the drink orders of 3 of our 5 person party. We were told there weren’t other tables available. We were fine where we were so drinks were ordered and on we went. As drinks were being ordered, the waiter pointed at the wrong person accounting for the queso I ordered. I corrected him. He asked that I remind him when we order dinner and I agreed. He took our dinner order without any paper to write on and I forgot to remind him. When the checks arrived, my 2 bar drinks were listed wrong but with the correct price and the queso was not on my bill. As I was reviewing the bill of the person he originally thought the queso belonged to, I heard a friend say they didn’t order queso. I said, “oh, that’s mine” and handed the waiter my bill. The friend’s bill I was looking at was incorrect so she gave that back too. 3/4 of the bills went back for revision. When they returned, the 2 small queso’s were listed as large queso’s and my 2 bar drinks were now 3. The manager came over and argued that we were served large queso’s so we should pay for large despite requesting small. I responded that I would and then never come back but I’m not paying for a 3rd bar drink I didn’t receive. He responded that he would go check the security cameras. I informed him that wasn’t necessary since both glasses were still present with our table not being bused during the meal. He insisted and left. We were left at the table long enough that 2 people had to leave to go to other obligations. Finally, the waiter returned with bills that were correct.
I’m appalled that I would be treated like I’m stealing when the waiter NEVER wrote down any orders (although they were brought out correctly so props for that) and then add a drink when I was telling him an additional charge needed to be added. All he had to do was just switch the queso from my friend to me and bill the correct size. Why would 5 women need 2 large quesos???
We were treated like criminals here after being very understanding all the way through the process. I was understanding that I accidentally ordered through someone who just delivers chips. I’m thankful he actually brought what I asked for. I was understanding when it was on the wrong check. But acting like we are lying about the size of queso we ordered was frustrating.
But this bad review is because they insisted on “checking the cameras” to insure I didn’t really order and receive a drink that was correctly NOT on my original bill. Everything was understandable and excusable until that action. The waiter was truly confused. The manager was a...
Read moreReally wasn’t impressed with this location, I say that because I have eaten at their other locations and it was moderately better. We purposely went for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon about 2 to miss any crazy crowds, there were a few remaining lunch rush guests leaving. We were quickly seated in an area too small for the number of tables. Our server was quick to take our first drink orders and bring the appetizer we wanted. We were still looking at the menu when he returned needing a few more minutes, all Is ok at this point other than than the cramped little table The food was average nothing special, there are much better options locally that we usually dine at, we were about halfway through our meals when we decided to have another drink, no server to be found…. After finishing our meal (still no server) we decided to have a dessert still wanting a second drink. Eventually he came back and helped us. Maybe he took a break? The food was ok and honestly the best things we enjoyed were the guacamole appetizer, the charro beans served with the chips and the churros for dessert
So I know what you may be thinking. Drunk review lol ……absolutely not I’m writing this the following day
But you ordered another margarita?…. Yes they weren’t bad, had better but not bad
The food was ok…. Would I go back? Sure if that’s where my group wanted to go, like I said we have found much better options locally
Who or where you might ask….. this a review about Lupe not them, go explore for...
Read moreThe experience I had wasn't the greatest. We stopped by there on Saturday night to grab dinner with family and kids. We called ahead just to see how long the wait is and the gentleman who answered the phone informed us there's no wait. We got there in less than 5 minutes and the host told us the wait is 25 to 30 min. She told us to find a place in the patio if we could and there'd be no wait. When we asked her about the phone call, the hostess were rolling her eyes. Totally acted like she was bothered. So we found a small table in patio and wanted to settle there. The server came and gave us chips, salsa and some bean dip. once we were ready to order, we asked the server if the beans or any items has pork and she said yes. We informed we don't eat pork so we picked the items that didn't have pork in them. Out of curiosity, we asked d if the bean dip has pork in it and she said yes. The server didn't informed us the kids meal we ordered or the dip that came with chips has pork. For us that was one of the major issues! why a big restaurant like this would serve something like this to every customer? There are tons of people with dietary restrictions. The server didn't even care to inform us about the food that we ordered that has pork in them even though she knew that was our restriction.
I don't think I'd ever go back there based on the service. We have been to multiple Mexican and Latin American restaurants in HTX and Katy and...
