My experience at Pho Saigon was completely unacceptable, and I feel compelled to share the details of my visit to warn others.
I called to place a to-go order for five beef banh mi and a veggie fried rice. While ordering, I was told that someone had just ordered a banh mi, so they could only offer me four beef banh mi instead of five. That was fine with me, and I was told to pick up my order in 15 minutes.
When I arrived, I ended up waiting an additional 20 minutes only to be informed that they could no longer offer me four beef banh mi. Instead, they said they could give me two beef banh mi and two chicken banh mi, which I reluctantly agreed to. However, as I was about to pay, I was told that they had sold two banh mi to another customer and could now only offer me two banh mi total.
To make matters worse, I discovered that they hadn’t even started my order and were waiting for me to arrive to inform me they couldn't fulfill it. This is completely unacceptable, especially since they ask for your phone number when you call to place an order. They should have called me as soon as they realized they couldn’t complete my order instead of making me drive there, waste gas, and wait over 30 minutes to be told my order wasn’t secure.
When a customer places an order, it should be reserved for that customer. Allowing others to come in after me and take items from my order is a blatant lack of organization and respect.
There was absolutely no remorse or concern for the poor customer service I received. I have four hungry kids at home waiting for food, and now I have to find somewhere else to eat because Pho Saigon completely failed to honor their commitment.
I’ve been willing to make the drive to this restaurant in the past, but today was the first and last time I’ll ever come here. They disrespected my time, gas, and money. I strongly recommend others think twice before...
Read moreIf I could give negative stars, I would. I ordered two large bowls of pho tai from Pho Saigon and asked that they be packed separately. I picked up my order and placed the bags carefully in my trunk on a completely flat surface — no bumps, no sharp turns. Just a normal, short drive home.
When I got home, I opened my trunk and was horrified to find that one of the bags had been packed so carelessly that the container had tipped or leaked, and over half the pho broth had spilled — all over the interior of my car. The soup soaked into the carpet and left a greasy, strong-smelling mess. The worst part? I drive a BMW, and now I’m going to have to get the entire trunk professionally cleaned just to get the smell and residue out. This isn’t just a small inconvenience — it’s a costly one.
I immediately called the restaurant to let them know what happened. At first, I was polite and simply wanted to inform them of the issue. I explained the situation calmly, thinking I’d at least get a sincere apology or maybe some accountability. But instead, the woman on the phone rudely cut me off, denied it ever happened, and basically accused me of lying. Her response was, “That’s not possible,” as if she knew more about my experience than I did. That’s when I got upset — because being treated like you’re making it up, after their mistake damaged your property, is absolutely infuriating.
I’ve ordered from Pho Saigon in the past, but after this experience, never again. It’s one thing to make a mistake — it happens. But to be dismissive, rude, and offer zero accountability is unacceptable. They clearly don’t care about their customers once the food leaves the restaurant.
There are way too many good pho spots in Houston to waste your money here. Do yourself a favor and skip Pho Saigon — unless you want ruined upholstery, a steaming bowl of denial, and a side of terrible...
Read moreBased on the reviews, Pho Saigon has the best pho broth around. I decided to give it a try and see how it compares to my usual pho spots. The restaurant was pretty busy for a Sunday night, and was decent. They were sweeping and mopping as I walked in, and I didn't smell the odor some of the reviewers mentioned. I ordered the Special Pho sub tendon and tripe w/ extra meatballs. Price was fair and comparable to the nearby places. My order had 3 meatballs sliced in half, not sure that constitutes as extra for the 2 items I didn't get. However the overall meat portion was perfect. I do wish the rare meat was bagged separately like other places. I asked for more bean sprouts and was accomodated. After looking @ the portion of noodles I paid for an extra serving. The $3 upcharge for additional noodles compared to the amount of noodles given was shocking. It was less than the amount of noodles that came w/ the pho. Also they must've been running low on onions and limes bc I had 1 small piece of lime and a few slivers on onions. The broth was filled all the way up and stayed hot until I got home. Right off the bat, it tasted bland. Very plain and under flavored. Might be the blandest pho broth I've had in the Katy area. Even w/ sricha and the 2 jalepeno slices it was still very bland. I don't know if it's bc they're in the middle of surbia and have to cater to certain palettes, but this isn't what I was expecting for a place where multiple reviews mention the broth. I'll try them again earlier in the day and update my findings. For now, there are better places to get your pho fix in the same area. I...
