It's the papa gyros guys? But with pizza!
The Joe Louis / the fist was good!! The hamburger, Italian sausage and bacon!!!
The Motown!! Is very good!!! Spicy kick but not burning on fire hot... Flavorfully heated! Has a small sweet taste from the honey... I can't really explain it but it's not overwhelming, kinda subtle and it's not consistent which is a good thing but when you do get it in that bite it's like a small "ooh sweet spicy" taste! It doesn't interfere with the meat or sauce.
The pizzas have crispy fried cheese on each square! The crust is kinda thick but each bite of each cut had toppings and sauce! Freshly made, not too greasy can be handled toppings are cooked and don't fall off the crust the crust is kinda crispy too.
I'm cheap... so these were expensive to me. I did enjoy the food. The pizzas are small but hefty... A small (8x10) will? should fill you up IMO but I was extra hungry and ate almost two 8x10s (7 squares) almost back to back. As far as "SERVING" 2 to 4 people... I'm mean if you each get a square or two... I personally feel the 8x10 is a personal pizza. think of a stack of printer paper but pizza
The service is good!!! it is a pizza spot so I would recommend calling or online ordering to save time as I'm sure it can / will get busy. However, I walked in and left with 2 pizzas in 15ish minutes on Saturday in the afternoon! While they had other customers inside sitting and eating, order pickups, and Uber eats / gubhub orders going out!! The workers were shmovin!
The place is clean, not the biggest place to sit down and eat but again pizza spot, classic hits playing, parking lot is big!
Went back to try some more pizzas again foods great!!!
Feeling adventurous try the Pickle pizza " Dill-liscious" tasted good I can't explain how but somehow it works bacon and cheeses the pickles have that deli crunch and stretchy cheese!
Also tried "The Temptations" I was kinda worried that the chicken would be dry or burnt or both I have bad experiences with chicken Pizza but this wasn't bad, the Alfred sauce is good!
The baklava is good kinda expensive? but good, crunchy sweet flaky syrupy!
The meatballs are also expensive IMO... Meatballs in cheese and marinara sauce I wish it came with cheese sticks or breaksticks on the side they are about 1/5-1/6 the the size of a pizza slice ( 8x10)...
Read moreI went to Sapore Detroit Pizzeria last night for my birthday dinner. I don’t have any pictures because the pizza was that good but this post isn’t about the pizza. It’s a PSA about THAT chocolate cake.
I really wanted the Italian wedding cake however they had run out and instead I opted for the chocolate cake with sprinkles. First off, i can not stand cold cake and so when they brought it straight out of the cooler, my sister and I were a little put off.
Then we put our forks in and started eating and let me tell you, THAT chocolate cake was sooooo good. Even though the slice was cold, it met our expectations for what chocolate cake is supposed to be. It was sooo good, we stopped eating it so we could take it home and eat it at room temperature (we brought home 1/4 of a slice).
When we got it home later and had waited the appropriate amount of time, OMG. As soon as I put my fork into it, the cake was moist and spongy and the frosting was delicious. Ladies and gentlemen, this cake is the BEST chocolate cake I have ever had in my entire life. This cake is and was worthy of being the chocolate cake in the Matilda movie, a mountain of chocolate cake covered in frosting. I told my sister if I’m ever sad to just bring me a slice of that cake and everything in my world will be a little better.
The only sad part to this story is they don’t open until 4 pm daily so if you’ve read this far, you have some time to go before 4 pm today. RUN, don’t walk to Sapore (23445 Kingsland Blvd) for this cake...

Shoutout to this pizza place for redefining the concept of “dinner.” After a casual 36-hour road trip with our kids, all we wanted was a hot meal, a shower, and sleep. DoorDash came through—well, kind of. Our driver showed up on time... the only problem? The restaurant never gave him our pizza. You know, the actual meal we paid for.
But don’t worry—they did send a family-sized salad (if your family consists of a hamster) and some cheese sticks. Yum! Totally what we were craving after 1,800 miles on the road.
The cherry on top? They still had 15 minutes before closing but apparently decided phones were just decorative at that point. I called several times, hoping to salvage the situation—but no dice. As someone who's worked in both food and retail, I totally understand the misery of last-minute orders. But choosing to ignore customers entirely? That’s not "end of shift tired"—that’s just lazy and unprofessional.
So thanks for the overpriced lettuce and breadsticks, I guess. We’ll be sure to not recommend you next time...
