Sur Latin Peruvian Cuisine — Restaurant in Katy

I am very disappointed in the service provided by management. This was our family's second attempt to eat at this restaurant. Both times, we have been treated poorly. Now, the first time, I understand. This was exactly a year ago. We were a large group (14 and there were long wait times. They told us we would have to wait for an hour, minimum). This second time, we tried to prepare with time and called the restaurant a day before (on a Saturday) and they told us they didn't do reservations on Sundays. We thought, "fine, we can still try to make it and hope there's a table available." However, we were extremely disappointed with the service provided by the lady behind the register. When we entered the restaurant, there was a "reserved" sign on the table in the back. When we asked about that table being reserved and their "no reservations on Sunday" policy, they told us someone had called ahead of time and were coming from far away to reserve that table. Ummm...we came from very far away too. Literally, the other extreme side of Houston. As much as we really wanted to try this restaurant that my husband had chosen to eat at (again) for his birthday this year too, sadly, their terrible service and negative treatment will not allow us to return. Sur Latín Grill is a small challenge to find, but has amazingly tasty food, wonderful service, and nice atmosphere. It is apparent that they cook love into the food. That will be our new Peruvian food place to go. They have both kinds of authentic corn in the fish ceviche. They currently do not show prices on their menu but have a new menu with prices coming out soon. We highly recommend this restaurant if you love Peruvian food.

We had fish Ceviche, Shrimp Ceviche, and some of the most tasty fried pork rice in the USA Today. All of the food is high quality and delicious. Today they were very busy but still did a great job with Venezuela vs Ecuador soccer on the main screen. 1-1 was the score as we paid our way out.

The Fried Yukka is awesome. The purple dip is tasty. The green one is spicy, the yellow one did not trip our tastes. Wow, fresh and delicious.

Sur failed us when we ordered food delivery this month. We ordered three beef saltados and one fish ceviche. It took over an hour to receive our order. When we opened it, there was very small quantities of beef saltado. The ceviche was old and dried out. I came in today to order the same to take home, and the manager| owner listened and just said “oh”. She didn’t apologize nor compensate. That is grossly...

Wow, where do I even start? Aesthetically this place looks legit although the screens only show one dish. Nice decor and great staff, very friendly and great customer service. Took way to long for how the dish tasted, literally felt like it was just warmed up in the oven and handed to me. I ordered 2 Lomo saltados chk nugg&fries for kids, lucuma smoothie, and Inca cola. Smoothie was an absolute delicacy and super authentic but everything else was not even close. Definitely an a for effort but it was hard for me to approve of it as someone of Peruvian heritage and as someone who has been to Lima this does not compare. Don't get me wrong it is def worth trying and is a good place if you are craving south American food type food. Best way I can describe the taste is like someone learning how to cook Peruvian food.
