I came here excited to try the coffee and ended up leaving disappointed as well as frustrated with the employees who work here. When I got to the register the girl taking my order didnât greet or seem welcoming, which I let go because everyone can have one of those days. I asked about the difference between the summer moon and half summer moon latte. She answered in a manner as if it was common sense, which it clearly was not as itâs not my job to know the menu itâs hers. I cut the convo short and stated Iâll take the âiced summer moon latterâ, she acknowledged 16oz with two shots of espresso. My wife got the blue moon latte and we waited.
Upon getting my order I saw that it said winter moon latte. We thought it was the wrong drink and my wife went up to tell them. The ladies looked at us confused, and irritated that we said it was the wrong drink. They said they would make another one and one of the girls clearly rolled her eyes while taking the cup out. Now I was irritated because we do not deserve to be treated rudely when we literally just came for a drink.
Then when they made that drink, we were sitting right in front of them. The girl just yelled âsummer moon latter ready at the barâ. No smile no nothing. This drink was hot so I didnât think it was mine as I had stated ICED. The girl yelled again and then just glared at us. So then I walked up to them as they had previously been rude to my wife. I told them I asked for an iced summer moon latte. She said the iced summermoon version is called wintermoon with a blank face as if I am stupid. The lady who had taken my order was watching but unwilling to say anything so then I said exactly that I was not told that by her. She went along with the order as if that was the proper drink and she should have told me that to avoid the confusion. Still, I didnât speak rudely but none of them said âsorry for the inconvenience/confusion/etc.â they all just stared without saying anything. I took my drinks and left and this is the last time I will ever go to think location.
To management, please give a day to this staff about customer service and proper etiquettes. The demeanor of this staff is snobby and arrogant. Itâs their job to make customers experience smooth and pleasant. From the other reviews this seems to be a recurring theme with location. Fix it before they cost you...
Read moreCoffee shops are everywhere, and because there are so many, a consumer often must narrow down the options based on something that sets one coffee shop apart from the rest. A coffee house that does, indeed, standout for the way it processes coffee is Summer Moon Coffee, a growing chain of coffee shops.
What makes Summer Moon unique is that it roasts its coffee beans over a wood fire, using Texas seasoned oak. The woody character comes through in the coffee, which does have a uniquely roasted flavor all its own. Summer Moon is also known for its Moon Milk, a sweet cream that makes a great topper for coffee or espresso.
At Summer Moonâs Katy location, one will find an oblong- shaped space for seating with an outdoor patio. If you arrive during the more crowded times of the day, you may need to wait for a table to open. There is no bar seating, only tables, and the space is somewhat limited.
Summer Moon offers assorted coffee drinks, like lattes, cold brew, nitro drinks, and a few teas. The coffee is high in quality and the roasting over oak does make a difference. They sell merchandise, too, and bags of coffee to go. With food, they offer a few pastries and other options. One disappointment is that, with the food, what is available for purchase is only what you see in the display case. If you want a specific food on the menu that isnât in the display case, that means it has sold out and you wonât be able to order.
With so many coffee houses from which to choose, a business needs to distinguish itself in some way. Summer Moonâs defining characteristic is its roasting of its coffee beans over an oak wood fire. It does make a difference in the taste, and it is reason enough for me to add Summer Moon to my rotating list of coffee shop...
Read moreI love their coffee, it really is different than most other coffee shops- even the independent ones or other small chains. A little smokey, not as bitter as you'd expect, and pairs perfect with a bit of cream and the littlest bit of vanilla. Even for me - more of a cream with a dash of coffee girl - was glad to sip on a nearly black cup.
Now I've got a sweet tooth to the point my blood qualifies as raspberry syrup, but even I find the full moon milk to be Just Too Much - which is why the baristas will usually subtly ask if you're sure and let me tell you, you'll only need to experience it once. Half moon at most for me, and even then, it is a dessert coffee.
Their lattes are very nice though, and generally come as they come (aside from adding a flavor), so you cannot go wrong with one - iced or hot! My friend loves their cappuccinos, and while some places will skim on the foam, not here. Her cappuccino always has a pillow of perfect foam somehow - which I always assumed couldn't be done in a fast-paced commercial shop.
But for this location, you are NOT getting parking. It's location was not ready for its popularity, but having to take a little bit of a walk is a small price to pay for a nice coffee that actually warrants the same price as a Starbucks and tastes infinitely better. Side note, they also have a little board where you can pay for a drink and write a nice message on a provided sticky note to put up for any stranger to claim later - no questions asked. There were a lot of notes with very sweet messages, so it's a testament to the kind of...
