A very popular and highly recommended Shave Ice location. It did not disappoint, but also didn’t live up to lofty expectations given other reviews. Flavors were numerous and their pre-listed combinations were helpful in selecting an option. Portion sizes were not as big as others on the island, but not a detractor as they were sufficient. Expect to have a challenge when eating, as the cups they serve their shave ice in are too small for the portions they provide. Service was quick and efficient and was able to process about 5 families in less than 10 minutes (on a Thursday afternoon in June). The atmosphere was definitely no frills. However, the floor inside the shop was disgusting and detracted from the experience. It was so sticky, flip flops almost came off. I realize it’s from the syrup, but given that’s used in almost every dish served, they should regularly clean it throughout the day. Parking is limited to on-street only. However, they do have a covered seating area outside of the shop, which is convenient for enjoying the Shave Ice.

It's just as good, if not better, than everyone suggested! Huge portions, super delicious flavors!! I visited both locations on my trip and preferred this one. The lines were shorter and the area of town was more laid back, but both are worth the wait if there is a line! You get a generous scoop of creamy macadamia nut ice cream in the center, then a giant pile of shaved ice on top where you get to pick your flavors, or order one of the specials listed. I got #2, Tropical Breeze, except changed out the mango for papaya. It was heavenly! Then they top the whole thing with what I'm guessing is a creamy coconut milk? (Edit: i just read the menu, duh. Haha its Haupia, which it turns out is a coconut-milk bases hawaiian dessert!) I would HIGHLY recommend this place, and this combo!!!6

Jojo's was on our list of places to try and we were glad we did! I ordered a small 4 flavour shave ice with macadamia nut ice cream and coconut creme and my son ordered a small shaved ice with 2 flavours. We had a coupon out of the Kauai coupon book so our 2 shaved ice came to just under $10 which I feel is more then reasonable. The portions were huge but we both finished them as we went for lunch (lol we are on vacation!). The ice cream was fantastic and the syrups the used were delicious, and not too sweet.

When we went (12:30pm) was very busy and one of the employees was on lunch so there was only one girl working her behind off to keep the line moving. The benches outside we nice to sit on and there were shady spots to eat as well.

My only negarive comment is that the floor incredibly sticky; it seemed someone had dropped their shave ice and it was one giant puddle on the floor where all the customers had to walk through it to get our orders. It resulted in literally being stuck to the floor while waiting for our order to be made.

Overall of you are looking for fantastic shave ice and macadamia nut ice cream, look no further...
