I'd like to thank your staff for going out of their way to let me know that my family isn't welcome at your establishment. If only you could have done it sooner. As I write this, I feel so embarrassed knowing that I have frequented your establishment weekly since you opened a few months ago. If only I had known I wasn't welcome, I never would have crossed your threshold. I was truly being selfish, thinking only of myself and how convenient it is for me to get a sandwich 3 blocks from my office. I never took the time to think about how your team would feel.
You see, I thought it would be a good idea to have french toast with my young children at your restaurant. Knowing that they don't eat very much, I ordered french toast for them to share. My 6 year old is lucky to finish one slice. My 8 year old will get through one to one and a half slices, but doesn't have the appetite to finish a two slice serving. As an adult man, I have no probably finishing the two slices and can easily go on to a third or fourth, which I generally do since your french toast is all you can eat (or so I foolishly assumed based on the "all you can eat" messaging on your menu).
After finishing my third slice, I asked for a forth. When it arrived, I sliced it in half to share it with my 8 year old. Your employee was very quick to let me know that I was no longer welcome to order any more french toast because my children had shared a plate, thus voiding the option for us.
How foolish of me. Neither the Layton Kneaders nor the Orem Kneaders has ever had an issue with my children sharing. But, your employee is completely correct. I should have purchased an additional meal so that we could have thrown away the slices that they wouldn't have been able to finish.
My first inclination was to explain my rational to your employee, but he was already headed to the two loud teenage boys (who found each other's farting noises completely hilarious) to deliver their third or fourth serving of french toast. It was at that moment that I understood the problem. My little family, and the inconveniences we were causing, was getting in the way of your employee's ability to properly server your target demographic.
How foolish of me. Please accept my sincerest apology. I will make sure to never enter your fine establishment again. I'll also make sure that my co-workers, who have also selfishly enjoyed the proximity of your establishment to our place of employment, fully understand that our likes (upper middle class business men with families) are not welcome...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had the worst experience here. I came through the drive thru, placed my order. Waited about 15 minutes in the drive thru and left, I got to my destination (I was bringing my daughter lunch at work.) And realized her sandwich was missing. No big deal, I call the store, the gal I spoke with -to her credit- is super kind and apologetic, and says I can go back through the drive thru and they'll have it ready. (I didn't catch her name, but she was a positive in this experience.) So far, no biggie. Life happens and mistakes happen - certainly not the end of the world.
However, when I get to the drive thru there is a guy there who asks if I am the one with the missing sandwich, I say yes, and with an attitude he tells me it is under my salad. I lift said salad to show there is nothing. He fumbles with his words like he is frustrated rolls his eyes and just says "wow, I'll be right back." And closes the window. He returns a moment later and shoves a sandwich at me without even looking at me. I asked if he was the manager, thankfully he said no. He probably shouldn't be working in the service industry, I was at no point rude and would expect basic common courtesy at the very least. I have never had such rude service before. I get home to see that a salad that I paid $15.00 dollars for is small, probably under proportions even by their standards, the chicken is literally hanging out of the container so much that some spilled into the bag. This was my first visit to Kneaders and will be my very last. I would caution against Kneaders in general for cost vs serving size/quality. And I would caution against the Kaysville location...
