Nikko Sushi and Ramen — Restaurant in Kaysville

The food is great but the service is beyond awful!!! I walked in to an empty building to pick up my to go order, I walked past a sign to go to the only 2 people in the building to let them know that I was here for my to go order. The 2 people did not even greet me as I walked in, that is why I assumed I needed to walk to them. As I was in the middle of talking and telling her that I had a to go order, the girl interrupted me rudely to tell me that I had to go back to the sign in the front and I’m not allowed past that sign even though there was not one customer inside this very small building, she wouldn’t help me until I walked back to the front door, as I was walking back to the sign I tried to tell her again that I was here to pick up my food, she again told me that I need to go back to the sign. Once I got back to the sign she finally asked me “how can I help you” she new what I was there for because I had already told her two times how she could help but it was more important for her to get me to that sign instead of greeting the only person that was in the restaurant. Like I said the restaurant was completely empty, there was not one customer in sight sitting down or waiting to be seated!! Instead of giving the customer service you hope to get she had to make sure to tell me that “the sign says stop for a reason” I I’ll never go back to this restaurant and I will make sure to tell everyone about the customer service you will receive and to make sure they I not take one step...

We've gone a couple times at the point of this review. My husband and I absolutely loved it! The service we received was nothing short of kind and caring. You can tell the lovely people who work here put so much care into their job. The food tastes amazing, they know how to cook chicken!

The outstanding service we received that I wanted to write about was actually over text! Our first visit we tried the House Sake. I'm personally not one for sake, but my husband and I really enjoyed it. I just bought him a sake set and wanted to surprise him with the sake we had, so I messaged the restaurant off of the website. The response was so quick! I was surprised since it was before business hours as well. But they were super sweet and personable, answered my question and recommended another sake to try as well. The service in and out of the restaurant has been exceptional.

The only reason my review isn't a five star, is purely just the size of the building. Especially on weekend nights, it's incredibly busy and I feel bad for the employees. My husband and I are incredibly patient, so we really don't mind the wait for everything, but we are waiting for quite some time for food. The wait is definitely worth it though! Every plate is delicious.

TL;DR Please eat here, it's incredibly deserving...

I feel bad leaving 3 stars, but there was not a single item that was satisfying in this giant order. The Spider roll is a soft shell crab roll. The crab was very fishy and unpleasant. This is not how good soft shell crab should taste in sushi. The sauce it was on was also not complimenting anything well. The Playboy and Crispy rolls were both suffering from a lack of freshness in the quality of the fish. The ratios of sauce and other toppings on these rolls created a flavor combination that just did not work well. Texture was also off the mark by a lot. The batter used in the Karaage chicken appetizer was very salty. The sauce the chicken came with was also unpleasant. The calamari appetizer was average. The shoyu ramen was the biggest let down. The broth had a slightly sweet, but very bland flavor. Nobody in my party liked any of the food, including myself. Unfortunate.

I will say that the presentation on the sushi was decent. It looked fine. I also enjoyed my brief interaction with the staff. Very nice people.

Overall, it is safe to say I will not be coming back to this restaurant for sushi or ramen or appetizers, but maybe there are other things on the menu...
