Do not do business with this location or likely Ace in general. They do not honor their own store policy and without putting anything in writing try to claim policies exist between corporate and them, so they will not honor a return.
My wife purchased a saw with gift cards and cash. She did not realize I already had this equipment and tried to return it with receipt and within the return window. They would not. I attempted the tlreturn and they are stating due to using gift cards they were charged 3% per transaction and lost money and will not honor the return even as store credit and the cash.
If you do not take gift cards, then do not take gift cards. If your worker doesn't follow your policy that is not on the customer, you need to share that policy. Just because you are a private entity does not mean you are except from consumer protections. Telling your customers to sell your goods on FB marketplace is a very telling of how you operate. All of the stores are independently owned and they can only apologize to you.
