Hy-Vee Market Grille — Restaurant in Kearney

Got sat quickly, waitress didn't tell us any specials until I placed an order. She then informed me that the particular meal I selected didn't qualify for the steak special. I asked what the special was and she said $5 off of a steak. No big deal, changed my order to get the nightly special and my wife ordered sushi. Food took a while to come out but no biggy, they were busy. Here's where it starts to go downhill. They never brought soy sauce or chop sticks for the sushi. We told the person that delivered the food and they said they would grab that stuff and come right back. About 5-7 minutes later, our waitress came by and acknowledged that they forgot the stuff and will be right back with it. She didn't come back for about 10 minutes. While I was waiting to eat with my wife, my steak got cold. Can't understand why someone couldn't take responsibility and fetch chopsticks and soy sauce within a reasonable amount of time. Finished eating and received our ticket and I decided to pay right away since we didn't want to have to wait another 20 minutes for our waitress to return...... That was a mistake on my part. I looked at the bill and seen ranch on the ticket and then it donned on me that they never did bring me my salad. They also didn't give me the $5 off my steak that they told me about. I sorted it all out with the manager and it was all good in the end but dang, the service was really slow and disappointing. Wont be returning, to many other options out there that have good...

My wife, son, and I went here to try the Sunday Brunch option, and quite enjoyed it. They were very busy, and we were concerned at the quoted 30 minute wait, especially since we could see empty tables. However, we waited far less than 30 minutes, and found the service friendly and prompt. Our son's pancakes were tasty and a very large portion for a kids meal. My wife and I had the buffet, which had a nice variety of items including made-to-order omlettes, to-order waffles, and a selection of other breakfast and lunch items. Everything was tasty, and the desserts were delicious. Everyone else seemed to be enjoying thier meals, and we clearly just hit a large rush, because as we were leaving, people were getting seated smoothly with little to no wait. Great food and service, was a little disappointed in all you can eat wings. Daughter ordered them, was asked if she wanted addition order and replied yes. New order came, ate half and was unable to finish. Asked for a to go box and was denied - I understand that some may say yes and take them home without eating any but there were more than original order, she did eat half and the rest was thrown out. I felt waitress should have brought less second go around and even stated that taking them home was not an option and my daughter would have asked for half an order. Food waste is very frowned upon...
