Buffalo Wild Wings — Restaurant in Nebraska

WARNING: Before eating at this location, ask if they are still serving their food “Hot when ready”. This means that they bring individual dishes whenever the cook gets around to it. Your friends at the table then awkwardly look around while you eat....oh, did you actually want to eat a meal TOGETHER?

As of November 2020 this location says it is mandated by corporate to follow this rule. This policy takes the critical timing responsibility off of the cook, and puts their customers in the awkward position of wondering what to do. If you get your food first, you are faced with the decision to either 1) eat your food in front of your friends while it’s still warm, or 2) or wait 5-10 minutes and have your friends eat theirs warm and yours is then cold. Someone’s going to loose, will it be you.... or your friend ? Roll the dice, but don’t complain because they already warned you.

I have ate at this location twice in the last month. The first time there was 7-10 minutes between two meals being served. The second time they brought the food out in three phases, First two plates of wings. Then after 2 minutes delay, a quesadilla with hard dry meat was served. But my sister still didn’t have her hot wing dish, she had to wait another 10 minutes before they showed up. Buffalo Wild Wings, you fooled me twice, but it won’t happen a third time, there are plenty of restaurants to eat at that don’t play these games.

Are there any workable solution to this situation. If you happen to get your meal first, you can offer your friends some of your fries, but they never accept you offer for some reason, they just want to wait for theirs. If you eat, they awkwardly look around the room while you chew your food in silence. Maybe the person without food should become the entertainment and tell jokes to the friends that are busy eating ? ...or maybe they should go in the kitchen and help the kitchen staff?

To highlight how little the chef cares about the customers, think about this. The hot wings are cooked in large batches. They then just simply toss them in the chosen sauce. Why can’t all the hot wings on a four person table come out together ? Why the 13 minute delay after the first dish ? The manager just hides behind the corporate policy.

The only solution seem to be 1) have their cooks put on their "big boy/girl pants" and time the food preparation like every grown adult already does at home. 2) have the wait staff keep the food under warmers until the full order is ready. 3) have the customers go to a different restaurant where they can actually eat WITH their friends/family.

UPDATE sep 2021, I was tricked into going to this restaurant again today, and they are still doing their “Hot-When-ready” scam.. We had 6 people. The first meal to arrive was a well-done hamburger. ... 6 minute later came my chicken sandwich (with stale cold fries, not even close to “Hot”). My mother ate her hamburger while her three grandchildren watched, I waited for the rest of the food to come. 5 minutes later my wife’s quesadilla arrived. Then the real wait started. For some reason the three orders of chicken wings took an additional 13 minutes to show up (OVER 20 minutes after the first dish came out). By then my mother was pretty much finished eating & my wife was half done. As for the server, I never received new fries, we had to flag her down both times for drink refills, and she never once removed a single dish from the table.

Why does this manager allow the kitchen staff to be completely unaccountable? Why do Customers put up with this ? Has the public lowered their expectations so low that when they go out to”eat together” they are ok with taking...

Went with my family today and to start off they were not very busy, seated us right away the waiter we one of the worst people to date that I have personally encountered. Unprofessional my wife had a question and he held her finger up at her and. Didn’t say anything while also not giving her enough time to order and he tried to walk off before taking her order. And there were 6 adults and 2 children 4-2 years old he was inadvertently rushing our table to order. None of our food came out together like it was missing a side but it would be 2 orders of wings at a time while it still being cold and our fries had to site there and get cold. Also it kept taking forever to get drinks keep in mind not busy for the location. He then brings out a chicken and it was raw and that kind of over filled my cup right there. I went and spoke with the manager Jarvis great guy was completely understanding and comped us for the mistakes and then I told the shithead the waiter that Jarvis would take care of me and he then rolled his eyes and came back with the check and then proceeded to come back 2 times to try and get my payment and the 3rd time he said “do you want me to just get Jarvis” and said yes and Jarvis then came over and then still apologized for the guys attitude. One of the worst experiences I’ve had there turned good. Let me also add I was very polite not rude very understanding in the beginning but I was pretty well over it. Thanks again Jarvis...

Man where do I start, I guess the beginning. My parents were coming through town and wanted to eat somewhere on the north end of town for their route home, they chose BWW. I have been there probably 5 times since living in Kearney and have never been happy with what I have gotten but we went anyway. First we walked in, less than half full and were told 20 minute wait, we said we would wait and we’re seated 5 minutes after, why would they tell us 20 minutes are they wanting business or not? Next we ordered our food, I got a drink with my meal on special and requested a Mountain Dew, waitress comes back and asks what else I would like as they only had Mountain Dew in the bottle, um how is that my fault? Just give me the bottle, but that wasn’t an “option”. Next the food, the wings were terribly overcooked and barely any sauce what so ever, mostly all breading no meat (boneless) meanwhile there were tons of dirty tables around us and the hostess just hanging out on her phone not helping to clean anything. Went to the bathroom, urinal was out of order, bathroom was filthy no paper towels to dry hands. Last thing we saw as were leaving was their outdoor patio, I realize it was out of season but still just looked so sloppy with ply wood laying everywhere and bird droppings all over everything. While I was reminded of why we never go here, this was by far the worst experience we have had here, much better places to...
