El Sabor De Su Casa — Restaurant in Kearny

Me and my boyfriend decided to order from here, it’s relatively new, in comparison to other at the same distance and we decided to give this one a chance. We ordered the Causa encevichada and Tallarines saltado de Especial, and we were looking forward to it. The service is very good and atmosphere is nice as well, but when we sat down to eat it, the causa wasn’t very flavorful but what hit us both the most is how salty these two dishes were, they were so salty we couldn’t finish eating it, it was unfortunately not a pleasant experience, with all honesty I hope that this ends up being more of a constructive criticism from an honest experience, at least today 12/21/24… 6:30pm food was very salty, otherwise it would have been...

This is a cozy restaurant, very no-frills. We came to Kearny for the Peruvian Independence Day Parade and wondered into El Sabor de su casa. The food took a little to come out, but we weren’t in a rush and happy to wait for freshly made food! It was wonderful. I had Pan con Chicharron and Papaya Juice for breakfast - the best one I’ve had since moving away from Peru as a child. The food is awesome they carry everything Peruvian and then some... That said I have a little issue with the bill For example when you eat in there is an 18 percent tip added to the bill I am fine with that But when you charge me an 18 percent tip on my bill when I go for a take out that is plain and simple an abuse I understand that when you go and sit and eat your food there is a tip included but why do I have to pay a tip added to the bill when I call and order food To go doesn't make any sense If you are the owner of this establishment please reply and explain it...
