Overall, this is your run of the mill Walgreens with an added Labcorp, Clover Health clinic, and pharmacy with vaccine appointments and walk-ins. Nothing majorly impressive just about standard and average for Walgreens. For those with United Healthcare under the NJFamilyCare (Medicaid plan), this pharmacy doesnāt accept that plan for medicine and vaccines. Only the branch in Harrison takes it. I found this out personally trying to take my mom to get her annual vaccines. Save yourself some time and frustration and just go to a locally owned pharmacy (I.e. Midtown Pharmacy).
On a personal level, I hate Walgreens for building this eyesore on Kearny Ave. It was built new and replaced an old car dealership and 2 traditional mixed used buildings (not the best, better than what is there currently). We already had a Walgreens and local pharmacies nearby (less than .25 miles). Ultimately, they built this to replace the Walgreens by Bergen & Kearny Ave. They could have built a traditional sidewalk facing building with less curb cuts for parking, but they built this big box suburban scar on Kearny Ave and took away the pharmacy located in the densest part of town that was also the most highly trafficked (oh and the only Walgreens in town that accepted UHC NJFamilycare/Medicaid). If it werenāt for the Labcorp service they offer I would never step foot in here.
P.S. this is mostly a rant of the Pharmacy oligopoly, their PBOs, and 2025 CDC landscape making certain vaccines unavailable/inaccessible for local pharmacies and our local health department to carry the vaccines I am seeking for my family. Also, support local pharmacies cause itās truly a miracle we still have some in this town given the pharmacy oligopoly we have in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFrom what I can see rudeness at this location is not new, I hesitated a little bit to leave a comment, but I shall, I am a nurse that requires to use FedEx services for express pick ups, these packages are sealed obviously because they contain specimens allowed by FedEx to be shipped and of course dropped of at Walgreens locations, I went to drop of a package and one of the kids up front by the register, grabs the package as if disgusted by it, didnāt want to touch the bag, and called over a lady (the rudest one of all) saying that they no longer allow packages ālike mineā to be dropped off, and for as much as I was upset I ended up walking away, Iāve yet to complain to FedEx about this location. Thereās several NURSES doing work at patient homes that require us to use closer drop off locations either labs or FedEx and Authorized locations, and I hope that they can UNDERSTAND the importance of this, also that the specimens are so well packed that the outside packaging is never contaminated, so please, no need to hesitate about touching the package.
Ps: next time a specimen gets delay due to the lack of competence, I will make them responsible for the liability of these specimens for not taking...
