(Shoutout to Matt G, Chen [cute stache one], and David [northeast Philly toji]) O, how dost I love thee, KPot's Korean BBQ? Let me count the ways! Thou art a culinary symphony, a feast fit for the gods, where tender meats and savory delights entwine in a waltz of flavors divine. From the moment I step within thy realm, the air doth fill with the sizzle and scent of grilling perfection, beckoning me forth to partake in the gastronomic delight that awaits.
Like the Bard's finest sonnets, thy menu unfolds with artistry and skill. A plethora of meats, marinated and seasoned with care, graces the table, awaiting their turn upon the grill's fiery embrace. And as I stand before the bounty, I am but a humble actor, performing my role in this culinary play, turning and tending the meats with reverence, like a bard attending to each verse.
The chorus of side dishes, known as bonchan, accompanies the main act with a harmonious blend of textures and tastes. The spicy kimchi, the delicate bean sprouts, and the refreshing seaweed salad dance upon my palate, each adding their own note to the symphony of flavors that unfolds.
But 'tis not just the food that captures my heart; nay, it is the communal spirit that doth elevate this dining experience to a grand spectacle. Here, friends and strangers alike gather 'round the grill, sharing laughter and tales as the meal progresses. The clinking of glasses and the clatter of chopsticks provide a percussion of merriment, adding a sense of camaraderie to the culinary affair.
And as the evening wanes, I find myself reluctant to bid adieu to this enchanting realm of Korean BBQ. Like a Shakespearean play, it has woven a tale of delight and camaraderie, leaving a mark upon my soul. My heart doth swell with gratitude for this culinary theater, and I shall forever cherish the memories forged amidst the aroma and camaraderie of KPot's Korean BBQ.
In conclusion, I declare my love for thee, KPot's Korean BBQ, to be as boundless as the sea, and as eternal as the stars. For thou hast bestowed upon me a banquet of joy and friendship, worthy of the grandest of Shakespearean praises. The bulgogi is aiight tho so 4/5 Despite the bulgogi, my server, Mathew was exceptional, deserving a full 5/5. Moreover The manager with cute stache that goes by Chen was 10/5, and dear lord savior, David, another manager with the broad shoulders and muscular physique that was always hovering to ensure a warm hospitality was...
Read moreI have been coming to this KPOT since it opened, love it overall but I dont think I will be coming in anymore. I had a really bad experience and it made me and my partner so uncomfortable by a new server (?) i'm assuming because the face is unfamiliar. We were asked twice if we wanted rice and once we came back we saw another lady putting 4 rice and "our" drinks, and kindly asked her if she can take back 2 rice because there was only two of us dining in. We ordered a mango lemonade and watermelon lemonade for drinks, but instead we got two pink colored lemonades. We tried them and it tasted like strawberry so we decided to tell the server that she got our drinks wrong. She double checked that I ordered a watermelon one and insisted that she gave me a watermelon one and it seemed like it offended her because if how her tone is. "What else do you want me to do, its a watermelon lemonade" How is this acceptable? Do you guys train customer service in here? Then, she came back with it, stared so hard and insisted on watching me drink it, which made me so uncomfortable. I was so hesitant to take a sip from it because god knows what she put in it because she seemed upset. Thankfully she put more of the watermelon syrup (?) and at first it was so bitter but thank god it watered down and tasted like it. She said, "Next time you have to say something, tell me okay?" she told me with her eyes wide open. I dont understand the hostility and the passive aggressiveness when she made those mistakes. I also asked her that my partner got a mango pineapple lemonade not a pink one so we really assumed that she didn't even pay attention when we were ordering. Then, she was checking up on all tables for plates except for ours even though we already have a lot stacked up.
Around the 1 hour mark, we were confused on why she was just standing by our booth, going up and down the aisle, and stand in station by our booth facing me and my partner (we're sitting next to each other). We thought that we already exceeded the time limit but we found out we still have a lot of time. We felt really really uncomfortable because why would you stand at the edge of a booth facing two people making them feel rushed. We shouldve...
Read moreWe arrived at 6:30 PM and were seated, but completely ignored until 7 PM—by then, it was too late to order a happy hour drink. I spoke with a manager who said there was nothing he could do because the system had already shut down.
We waited 45 minutes just for rice, while the rest of our food sat untouched. The restaurant was not even busy. I called the waitress over twice, but we were ignored. Half our meal was eaten without water or drinks, and by that point, my boyfriend and I were both disappointed. We had really been looking forward to dinner.
Unfortunately, this visit completely changed our perception of KPOT. We’ve had great experiences in the past, but this one was enough to make us not want to return.
When it came time to pay, the staff seemed confused about our table and attempted to charge us for hotpot soup we never received. My boyfriend had to correct them. When we were handed the tablet to leave feedback, the manager quickly closed the review screen before we could write anything.
Management was aware we were unhappy and made no effort to address the situation. We paid full price for a terrible experience, and I wasn’t even going to write this—until I realized how blatantly we were being ignored.
This is the first time I’ve ever felt compelled to write a negative review, which speaks to how disappointing this experience was. I truly hope someone from corporate can acknowledge what happened and help make it right.
I’m writing regarding this disappointing experience at the KPOT location in Kearny: 230-240 Passaic Ave, Kearny, NJ...
