This place has no idea what an expresso is the got water with coffee grains
Reply to owner: I know what and expresso shot is thatâs why I only wrote my review on the coffee. But most importantly you should now what it is since you own a coffee shop to start you donât serve it in a 10oz cup ! Maybe take some constructive criticism. Iâll attach a picture of the drink since I didnât even drink it because it tasted and smell like burn instant coffee grains. The only reason I didnât walk back in the store is because I had already driven the off to my job not because Iâm intimidated to say this in person. Just as you were helpful as you say I was polite my review was coffee related only I donât understand your spiteful comments. Do you see the grains sitting in the bottom of the cup ? Do you see the lightness of the coffee ? No expresso shot has grains, nor should it be this light in consistency and the taste was the worst part grainy and watered downs just like it looks. The first picture is your âexpresso shotâ. The second and third are an expresso shot from another coffee shop see the difference⊠right cup and the consistency. Do you see the color difference? It even stains the cup because itâs not watered down thatâs how expresso shots should be. Do you notice the foam which is called crema an expresso is supposed to have that ! But Iâm sure you know this right ? Or do you sell some special expresso that the rest of the coffee shops donât...
Read moreI love the food here. I come here often. The service is not good, they ask you to sit down and that doesnât allow you to chose what you want at the counter. When you sit at your table the waitresses are always lost in the tablet registering what ordered like they have never done it before it takes some time. Then they make mistakes all the time, we ask for x they give you z. They are not organized or coordinated at all. Today they said they donât serve something I always get when I go. Itâs just hilarious. I always get a sweet bread with coconut on top. Always. I also always ask for it to come with ham and butter, never once someone told me it was not possible or it was and exception and that it wasnât on the menu. Today it happened first they brought me something else and when I said this was not what I ordered they told me it was what was available the other bread couldnât go to the kitchen to be opened up and but ham on it. I actually donât care, I always get that why today they refused to do it? It doesnât make sense. Once I ordered online some strawberry cake and I asked if they were freshly made, cause I had a bad experience with that before. They said they were made the day before so I ordered them, when they arrive 2 of them were fresh the other 2 the strawberries were not fresh. I had to call and complain once again. That place is a mess every time I go something bad happens. It was my last...
Read moreGod bless Minas Cafe & Bakery for their signage identifying the ALFAJOR as the baked good of my adult childhood dreams. Google tells us it's from Argentina, and Chile, and I know this is also sold in other Brazilian bakeries even if they don't know what they have: two shortbread cookies (Minas may use graham cracker and cinnamon here), stuffed with just the right amount of dulce de leche filling. Minas dips this cookie sandwich into a thick layer of chocolate which hardens, and artfully drizzles dark chocolate over the whole thing. It's a substantial dessert, perfect with their coffee galao. It really gets you there (plus maybe one other person). It was also so amazing to be able to say, "One Alfajor and one galao, please," and to be perfectly understood instead of being looked at like I have two heads, like what usually happens. The brigadeiros looked nice, too. Good to know they're open til midnight!
As a child my favorite dipped chocolate baked good had been the RING DING, which I wasn't allowed to eat very often. For better or worse, Ring Dings are no longer able to provide the same thrill, and cannot bring me to the same place as before. I need something a little stronger now. I see this product for sale at other Brazilian bakeries but invariably the people working there are unable to identify it by name. (Don't even ask for the 'ring ding'). So now I...
