Rocky's Restaurant — Restaurant in Kearny

I've been getting caldo de gallina for at least 3 years here. Everything else is just ok on their menu. But their caldo was great. Well, a few months ago the caldo didn't taste quiet the same. I paid and informed the waitress. Then a few days ago I went to get caldo again and the soup tasted like dirty water. I respectfully approached the owner and quietly said "hey just an FYI, there's something up with how the caldo is done lately. I'm gonna pay btw I'm not trying to go without paying even though I took 2 sips and the plate is full." The lady got defensive and I had to reassure her I wasn't trying to go home without paying as I showed her my wallet. As this became an issue I told the lady, it's ok you k ow what I'll take it to go please. And her response made me pay and leave everything behind to not go back there again. She started to demand I give her 50cents more because of the plastic bag I would need. I looked at her and said "seriously? My family and I had dinner at Rocky's for the 1st time tonight. The service was excellent! The waitresses were on top of their game! They were very accommodating and made us very comfortable. Peruvian food is a family favorite. We have had a lot of Peruvian food from various Peruvian restaurants. Now, I must say, we have found a new local favorite! The food was well flavored with the traditional Peruvian flare. All of our dishes came out together and quick. Highly recommend...

This place has gotten worse. I cannot believe I spent $10.00 on a quarter chicken. When I went up to the owner she said "chicken has gotten expensive." And then I confronted her saying if it were expensive she wouldn't be charging 4.50 for student specials and she then states that the student special doesn't come with salad. So a skimpy ass salad costs 5$? No! I cannot believe this. I'd prefer Roja y Blanca from now on. I will no longer give...
